@rmfalla Suzuki didn’t WANT to be mgr. He didn’t “apply.” Once Arte & Perry figured out that nobody wanted a 1-yr placeholder deal.. they asked Arte’s “Asst” to assume the role. Suzuki, more than anybody, knows he’s not prepared for this.
@AngelsTalk27 We weren’t trading FOR Grayson, as much as we were avoiding paying Ward in arbitration. We then used that savings to fund the bulk of our other contracts. We got GR cause we had to get something… Arte being cheap.
@davet79@MikeDiGiovanna@LockedOnAngels Player payroll is only one component of expenditures. It’s visible to fans, so that’s what they measure. But Arte doesn’t spend on scouting, data, planning, conditioning, infrastructure..etc. (or pest control, apparently).
@AngelsWin Having watched the stadium being built…
this is the MOST pessimistic I’ve been for the team. Terrible…. The fundamental infrastructure: scouting, development, game-planning; have been dismantled. Their road back to winning is a long one.
@HalosInfield Super low-leverage situation. Mop-up role. He was better than a position player… Honestly, we’re gonna need that role more than a legit closer this year. Using him in an actual starting role would be a disaster…
@SleeperAngels A super low-leverage, mop-up situation. He was slightly better than a position player, I guess…
and honestly, we have more need for that role than an actual closer this year.
