She gave Mya co-writing credit so that she would earn profits off the song for a non-profit set up in Ronan's name. It's not complicated. Mya tells the story on her TikTok and other interviews.

@elonmusk I've lived in the states my whole life. I started voting at 18. I've had to show my ID every time I've voted. When I moved I had to bring proof of address change until my ID was updated. This is a non-issue. Find something else to whine about. This is old and tired.
