@FrailSkeleton Also, the (again, very remote) risk can be completely obviated by using bipolar cautery instead, which just goes between two points on the cautery tip itself, no grounding pad needed.

@FrailSkeleton Unless they're using some absolute prehistoric cautery up in the OR (lmao no they have all the cool toys) there is almost zero risk of accidental conduction through a piercing unless someone absolute genius puts the grounding pad on top of the piercing.
