Look I get it, doomers are eye-rolling and act life is scifi movie, but being obtuse in the other direction is equally foolish. Wealth inequality and mass unemployment are likley coming

But that's not the case and probably won't ever be. We're talking about reality of this century, not magic hypotheticals. In many fields, one or two humans will be able to oversee and manage a deparment's worth of ai work. ergo mass unemployment

@azw____ @jessesingal Good for humanity yes but not in any simple way and was frequently hellish for the booming masses living it. Mega farms but famines. Vaccines but world wars. It got good with regulations.

AI kills the careers of masses of people. AI is easy to like if you're insulated from that.

The nearest analogy is invention of the factory. The newly industrial world was brutally unequal in qol. it led to invention of benefits yes but it's a very grim and often dangerous life

The scandal is steeped in racism. He was used as a display prop for vain virtue signallers, nowracists use it for vindiaction. It's very political.

@jessesingal Agreed, but there's still the fact that he alone was the face of the scandal, not those who vanity hired him.

He was on the headlines of the bbc news for weeks and weeks. I honestly don't know how to not describe it as a hounding, and this outcome felt pretty likley by week 2.
