@Shrink_at_Large Here's the relevant looking bits from what's up on Hansard so far (and the link, if you want to Ctrl+F). He answered in response to Blackman and Downie.

@MMspike56@LBC@RachaelMaskell If you look at what Rachel Reeves was saying about benefits claimants back in 2014, you'd see that this absolutely is ideological for her, not a matter of forced hands. https://t.co/LpzFmVOFiL
@NadiaWhittomeMP Thank you for your part in this till now, and for translating here. It's unfortunate that the UC health changes got a fraction of the limelight - I think many of your colleagues thought it was job done after the final retreat on PIP, and don't grasp how damaging the bill still is
@MarieTidball The changes to UC health are extremely dangerous in themselves, even if they got a fraction of the attention. Very ill people will no longer be assessed as being unfit to work. At best they will have £400 to live on, at worst they'll face sanctions for not being able to engage.
@Lucy_Webster_@Debbie_abrahams@vickyfoxcroft Me too. I wonder if it's so they can loudly insist upon the amendments and ensure they're protected, given that they were the basis for obtaining their votes? Those who voted against the bill might not have the same "podium" to protest any changes or let downs. (Possibly maybe?)
@ESOLallstars@David_Bagnall67@DrFrancesRyan Many current claimants only won their award at Tribunal, because of the DWP's policy of denying legitimate claims in the hopes they won't appeal. Those awards are not renewed, and must be applied for again as a fresh claim, so all those people will now be subject to the new rules
@PollardTom@Dawn26467771@hanmurr85 If it isn't etched in stone prior to the vote they'll have no reason to honour it. It's all only to convince rebels by Tuesday, not to actually protect anybody. Even so, knowing the DWP, they'll find a way round it.
@Dis_PPL_Protest It's crap. Current claimants who would have had their awards renewed will now have their awards wrongly ended to have them restart as new claims. The DWP knowingly denies legitimate claims as much as possible already, what on earth stops them from terminating legitimate claims?
@vicderbyshire This only incentivises the DWP to end claims when up for review (which would previously have been continued), to force current claimants to start at the beginning as a "new" claimant. Meaning zero interim support, additional stress and permanent loss of LCWRA. Not real protection
@Shrink_at_Large It seems very likely to incentivise the DWP to terminate existing awards at their end instead of renewing them as otherwise would have happened, meaning MORE insecurity for current claimants, who will be without support altogether while starting a fresh claim (incl. losing LCWRA)
@Shrink_at_Large Supposedly Reeves is mostly responsible and Kendall wanted upfront investment rather than cuts, but she's appalling at media and blind to how she comes across. Reeves only sees figures on her spreadsheets, and is blind to consequences. They're both incompetent, and should both go
@billkruse@lukejcr@leicesterliz@AndrewHWestern York Outer (his constituency) has a relatively low number of PIP claimants. They only make up about a third of his majority, so he's relatively "safe" to disseminate his cretinous shittery unfortunately.
@Shrink_at_Large I think it's a real toss-up whether Badenoch directs them to undo Starmer's bill to evidence his incompetent leadership, or support it in order to allow Starmer to do their dirty work for them and conveniently solve the welfare budget "problem" ahead of their eventual re-election
