In the spring of 2026, after using Codex to do my taxes, I concluded that experienced software engineers would be safe for a while; that they're still very necessary for orchestrating robot coding.
Curious to see how long it lasts.
@jconorgrogan Another takeaway: In a world where output in all forms is breakneck, taste becomes more important. I call it the "Rick Rubin" economy for the lulz, but Steve Jobs is probably the better spirit animal.
@jconorgrogan Had a long AI chat on this topic. One takeaway: high-output technically inclined individuals will be able to build billion dollar empires essentially alone. Like the cloud computing revolution x10.
Not sure how you invest in that, though, unless you're the individual doing it.
@ThePanic16@foxone I only get the team feeds on Fox One here in TN USA. I can only get the game over the air. Maybe a zip code thing? No idea, but the real game feed is nowhere to be found on Fox One.
@sahilkapur There is an enormous amount of daylight between a guy who got weird tattoos and said some offensive stuff vs the war criming, pathological lying, serial philandering, democracy dismantling, race baiting, populace dividing, openly corrupt horror show in the White House.
@TrustlessState@GonnaEth Lol you asshat. You blacklisted Etheria for years to protect your own bags. Don't try to act like some paragon of morality now. Don't let the door hit you.
@Mark_A_K_W@sdemyanov@paulg I want to get the billionaires paying more just as much as anybody but I've seen wealth tax havoc in Scandinavia up close. A friend had 100s of early NFTs from 2016 worth 10s of M and got wealth taxed on them to bejesus and back. A few months later they were worth ~zero. Awful.
@TimAlberta Poor officiating is probably the top reason I stopped watching (college) basketball 20 years ago. Felt like charge vs block was a coin flip, among other things. I prefer the precision of football and soccer.
I'm sorry. Basketball is an absurd sport that favors genetic freakshows moreso than work rate and skill. Even "short" guys like 6'2" Steph Curry have to be outlandishly good to compete with this. It's ridiculous and shameful.
