This is the late Ted Cruz, Republican U.S. Senator from Texas. Lately Teddy Bare has been questioning the masculinity of Senate candidate James Talarico. That's a tough sell for Cruz since he appears here to be in his third trimester...
@flagstafffilms@NY@Cardinals This is July 28, 1937. The NY Giants beat the Cardinals, 8-4, at Sportsman's Park in St. Louis. We see Johnny Mize homering for the Cards off of the Giants Cliff Melton. The early part of the clip showing Carl Hubbell pitching for NY is probably from the day before.
@Chicago_History Huh? Are you serious? Phil Jackson of course. And George Halas should be representing the Bears, NOT Mike Ditka. Dick-kuh was a mediocre coach and a narcissistic blowhard.
@VinnysCorner1 Ali. Louis, as great as he was, often had trouble with boxers--Schmeling, Conn, Walcott. And, trust me, Ali was better than all of them! Walcott himself once said, in 1965, that Ali would have beaten any heavyweight that preceded him.
@flagstafffilms@RedSox I believe that is Lefty Grove warming up for the Red Sox at the beginning. We see Ted Williams later. Ted was a rookie in 1939 and Grove's last season in Boston was 1941. So this has to be in the 1939-1941 time frame. I believe we also see Ted Lyons and Bob Feller warming up.
On July 9, 1972, Nolan Ryan threw a 1 walk, 1 hit, 16K shutout v. Boston. Both runners reached in the 1st, and Ryan retired the final 26 hitters in a row. He also had a streak of 8 consecutive strikeouts. Very similar to Jacob Misiorowki's recent masterpiece v. the Phillies.
The Braves, Dodgers and Brewers currently lead their respective divisions in the National League and possess the best won-lost records in the National League. Those 3 clubs also have the lowest team ERA's in the NL. Co-inn-kee-dink? I think not!
Here is Aaron Judge's swing path. Sorry HLP Stay Puft Marshmallow Teacherman devotees. I just don't see "snap and tilt". But now you can buy Tman's new training device: The Flickit bat. What a Guy! I'd call it the F*ckit bat, but what do I know? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Contrast that with obscene filth of Donald Trump's 80th birthday celebration--a UFC fight card on the White House lawn. A cringe worthy debasement of our nation and the White House grounds to satisfy the bloated ego of a narcissistic psychopath. Despicable.
Today in sports provides a remarkable contrast. Bud Cauley won the PGA Canadian Open. Cauley has been a touring pro since 2011 and this was his first Win!!! He had tears in his eyes and was greeted on the 18th green by his wife and beautiful young kids.
