Last night’s results made clear that more than 73,000 voters will no longer tolerate anything less than what is needed to keep our city safe from police misconduct. Lives are at stake. We won’t stop now.
To everyone who supported #PropB: from all of us at Fix SAPD, THANK YOU.
With HB 2127 passage, I sincerely think TX municipal level organizations and their council allies have got to learn to think in terms of David Harvey’s Rebel Cities. More like Syntagma Square, Tahrir Square, Gezi Park.
HB 2127 is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It’s disguised as a measure for consistency when, in reality, it seeks to undermine local governance. The state has FAILED to fulfill its responsibility to govern, leaving municipalities to address crucial public policies. (1/3)
I know from personal experience this won’t work. In San Antonio, the city manager/attorney decide what’s negotiated, then city council members either give a green or red light. To give underserved communities power, we should let them (not council members) vote on final contracts
Join us and our partners @OrganizeTexas & @BlackVotersMtr for our virtual fundraiser on Wed. Sept. 1!

MORE OFFICERS DOES NOT MEAN LESS CRIME. Our proposed city budget continues to waste our tax dollars on over-policing that has been proven not to work. City dollars should fund basic needs like housing and healthcare to ensure community safety.

This is why we must fight for a better police contract! Too many of these stories in SAPD!

A San Antonio police officer beat a 61-year-old man after the officer crashed his vehicle into the man's car while off-duty. The officer, who has a history of road rage, has been charged with DWI but not assault. @dilloncollier with the details: https://t.co/Vf2WWOV2Db
From students to clergy to members of Congress, about 2,500 people descended upon the nation’s capital to defend what the late congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis described as “the precious, almost sacred” right to vote. https://t.co/FU9WIxn3DC
Check it out #SanAntonio!! We made it into @TheAtlantic! Congrats to @fixsapd and all the incredible supporters that fought for police accountability and reminded the police union they can’t walk all over us anymore!

HB 929, the Botham Jean Act, would require officers to use body cameras & make the footage publicly available. It's sitting on Gov Abbott's desk. Call 512-967-0567 to demand he signs it this week before it dies! #policeaccountability#txlege
What's powerful about our movement is that it's rooted in building coalitions and bases that reflect the state of TX - working class, Black, Brown, workers, undocumented, Queer, feminist, and resilient. We are determined to build a multi-racial, anti-racist movement in the South.
Derek Chauvin should have been fired long before he placed his knee on Floyd's neck. Today and every day we honor the life of George Floyd by continuing to fight for police accountability. Rest In Power! #BlackLivesMatter artist credit: Nia Palmer

JUST IN: The San Antonio police union quietly spent $600K to defeat Prop B -- far more than previously thought
The massive spending flew under the radar because the union didn’t report the activity under its own name https://t.co/hXweRkvEWU @ExpressNews
