A campaign organized by the Chicago Democratic Socialists of America to fight alongside fellow riders and CTA workers to win a better transit system for all.
Dorval's Leadership Evaluation:
✅ - Reduce rail service yearly.
✅ - Make service untrackable.
✅ - Under-report assaults on workers.
✅ - Cover up worker death.
✅ - Rake in $300K
We've seen enough. It's beyond time to #FireDorvalCarter. Call you reps with our script below!
Here's how Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson responded when asked if he's considering changes to CTA leadership:
"We continue to evaluate leadership... Dorval Carter is no exception," Johnson responds to @rquinnmyers.
This is why CTA service will never improve, no matter how many new employees are hired. Until we confront this unpleasant fact, the system will continue to fail.
The CTJC stands with all CTA workers and families who are suffering since the suicide of a coworker last week.
The culture of humiliation that CTA management fosters, encourages bullying and intolerance among the workers.
Our union leaders must take a stand against it.

Every worker should feel supported in fighting for what's right. We proudly organize arm in arm with CTA workers to make this a reality for everyone! #WorkersDeserveMore
Samantha E from @fixthecta_CDSA is explaining how their chapter made connections with rank and file CTA union workers to support their on-the-ground demands, and build the confidence to organize.
Today's the day! Get on the train to green public transit and join our Mass Transit Call TODAY, June 30th, at 8pm ET/5pm PT to hear from the transit workers and organizers building the future we deserve.

We're leaving horrible headways, transit defunding, and bad working conditions in the dust. Learn about how a public transit campaign can transform the lives of both people and planet at our upcoming Mass Transit Call on June 30th, at 8pm ET/5pm PT.

Thank you @fixthecta_CDSA for showing your appreciation to the 10k workers that make the system run 24 hours 7 days a week. @cta has never did such an event. The lack of appreciation shows in the low morale once a year for Transit Employee Appreciation Day. #FireDorvalCarter
It's simple: the CTA can only improve when we improve the working conditions of the workers that make it happen. So join us June 22nd at 1pm, to celebrate CTA workers and hear from them about the on-the-ground changes our system needs to thrive!

If you want to learn more about public transit campaigns, come to our Building for Power in Mass Transit call on Sunday, June 30th at 8pm ET/5pm PT! https://t.co/pedVOyg02i
We are calling workers in ATU Lcoal 241/308 to meet and discuss the "unprecedented" and "historic" proposed Contract extension and 4% raise. @fixthecta_CDSA
Unfortunately, this is standard operating procedure. They have turned our Extra Board (on-call operators) into a scheduled workforce—destroying its original purpose to provide relief to operators who need time off from sickness or other life issues. Of course, the plan will fail.
It never will. The working conditions are the problem. We work ourselves to death on the front line—literally. Human beings cannot tolerate persistent abuse. We are punished when we get sick. Just that alone destroys any chance for improvement. We need #PaidSickDays
When the emergency button is pressed, the lone CTA train operator must stop the train, respond and often walk all the way back to check the situation. That delays the train behind them too. This happens every day, all day. #TwoPersonCrews would allow the train to keep moving.
Comrade @Pabdrelo✊🌹defending TARC before Metro Council. “Councilmember Kramer said ‘the ridership doesn’t match the expense.’ That’s not how this works. Public Transit is a public service. It’s not a business, it’s not here to make money. It is a service the city provides.”👏💯
Thank you to everyone who put on the pressure against this appointment! Hopefully the Mayor will appoint someone with actual transportation experience and finally take our transit system seriously.
Wow: Mayor Johnson's nominee for a $25K/ year seat on the Regional [Transit] Authority board, who previously admitted he doesn't use CTA much and was unaware of the looming $730M regional transit fiscal cliff, is withdrawing his name from consideration.

@_ManuelRamos_@fixthecta_CDSA This man has been responsible for UNJUSTLY FIRING HUNDREDS of CTA workers my union represents. Some have died in poverty from the trauma!
Important action to address the risk of a losing our intercity bus terminal. Bus riders need and deserve a terminal and associated services! Chi can do it.
