@chrismartenson I used to stay there (Marriott Ambassador Status) on occasion. I can see what is going bon as Mahwah is where the real Wall Street trading takes place.
Still nothing there except a pile of rubble as of last week. The hotels in Mahwah suck now. The Sheraton was the go to place. … Guess some “folks” pissed off the chosen and most folks don’t know this bit.. the real Wall Street is in Mahwah…That is where the market is wired. The Wall Street you see on TV is a studio with a few market reps there plus the ummm (((tee vee))) crews. I will run a thread on this soon.
A Month ago I had to get fuel in Monsey (nearby) it was $5.39/galn regular and everywhere else in NY it was $4.11 for regular…. Monsey and the surrounding era are a religious compound…
Stay away from it.
James Traficant, a controversial former U.S. Congressman from Ohio, was known for his fierce, outspoken criticism of Israel and the power of the pro-Israel lobby. His stances made him a polarizing figure, as he frequently took positions that broke sharply with mainstream American foreign policy. [1, 2, 3]
Key aspects of Traficant's engagement with Israel include:
Opposition to Foreign Aid: Throughout his congressional tenure, Traficant consistently voted against U.S. foreign aid, specifically taking aim at billions of dollars in annual financial and military assistance to Israel. [1, 2]
The "Stranglehold" Statements: Following his conviction on bribery and racketeering charges and subsequent release from prison, Traficant gave multiple high-profile interviews. He publicly claimed that "Israel has a powerful stranglehold on the American government" and argued that his legal troubles were orchestrated, in part, because of his critiques. [1, 2, 3, 4]
John Demjanjuk Support: Traficant was an outspoken defender of John Demjanjuk, an Ohio autoworker accused of being a Nazi war criminal. Traficant actively supported Demjanjuk's defense, spoke out against his deportation to Israel, and actively assisted his family in trying to bring him back to the United States. [1, 2, 3]
Because of his rhetoric and political stances, his relationship with the Jewish community and pro-Israel organizations was highly contentious. For further reading on his career, voting record, and controversial statements, explore the PBS News archives or review coverage of his time in office via the Jewish Telegraphic Agency. [1, 2]
Guess who isn’t leaving Goldman Sachs at the end of June?
Guess who waited until late Friday afternoon to drop the news?
“Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s chief executive officer has asked his top lawyer to stay at the firm, a surprising move after she resigned from her role earlier this year as scrutiny mounted over her interactions with Jeffrey Epstein.
In recent weeks, CEO David Solomon pressed the bank’s general counsel, Kathy Ruemmler, to remain and she’s agreed to stay on as an adviser, according to people with knowledge of the matter….”

…Epstein and Kathryn Ruemmler, the White House counsel under President Barack Obama, swapped 11,300 emails from 2014 to 2019, with at least one direct message on 70% of days….” - @TheEconomist
