Trust me on this, I’ve gone through this story deeply, piece by piece, timeline by timeline.

What I’m sharing here is not surface-level noise, it’s built on facts, history, and how things actually unfolded over decades.

So here’s how I see it.

Before 1979, before the Iranian Revolution happened, Iran was almost completely under Western influence, especially the U.S., largely because of oil.

Everything worked on their terms.

The leadership, the policies, the direction of the country, it was all aligned with what the West wanted.

At the center of this was Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

And to maintain that control internally, there was an agency called SAVAK created by the CIA.

This wasn’t just any agency.

It was the Shah’s secret police, built with support from U.S. intelligence. It controlled people through surveillance, fear, arrests, and suppression.

Now think about this.

When a system runs like this for years, where everything is externally influenced and internally controlled, what happens?

People eventually push back.

And that’s exactly what led to the turning point.

Then the Iranian Revolution happened in 1979.

The Shah’s rule ended.

Iran decided to break away from Western control.

And rebellion turned into a full system change.

But here’s the part most people don’t understand.

Just because the revolution happened, it doesn’t mean everything changed overnight.

SAVAK was officially dismantled, yes.

But its networks, methods, and influence didn’t just disappear in one day.

And then things got even more intense.

From 1980 to 1988, during the Iran-Iraq war, Iran wasn’t just fighting an external enemy.

It was dealing with:

Foreign pressure

Internal instability

Remnants of old control systems

And survival as a new independent state

This is where everything changed at a deeper level.

Iranians became more united than ever.

Because now it wasn’t just about politics.

It was about survival.

It was about identity.

It was about making sure they never go back to being controlled again.

Since then, what we see today isn’t new.

This isn’t a recent conflict.

This has been going on for 40+ years, on and off, in different forms.

Now here’s another layer.

Iran today is not just a country politically. It’s also the center of Shia identity globally.

In a world where Shias are a minority, Iran stands as their strongest representation.

So from their perspective, it’s not just about borders.

It’s about identity.

It’s about having a place in the world.

And then comes the political angle.

There has always been this idea that the U.S. would prefer a regime in Iran that aligns with them again. And the name that keeps coming up is Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former ruler, now in exile.

But here’s the part that’s personal for me.

I studied in a Catholic school. I grew up around a lot of Muslims. Later I realised few of them were Shia, especially Bohras.

And honestly, they were some of the most calm, kind, and grounded people I’ve met.

No aggression. No noise. Just simple people living their lives and mostly rich, especially in India.

So when I connect everything, history on one side and personal experience on the other, it makes me look at this differently.

Because beyond politics and narratives, what I see is this:

A country that was controlled

A country that pushed back

A country that broke out

And a country that chose to stand on its own terms

And at the same time, a country that is trying to ensure Shias have a strong place and voice in the world.

You can agree or disagree with policies, governments, ideologies, that’s a separate debate.

But standing your ground for 40+ years after all of this, against a giant like USA is absolutely commendable.

And from where I see it, that’s exactly why I support Iran.
