We have to normalize respectful business separation instead of making them overly dramatic divorces.
If business together doesn’t work anymore, then we have to be able to split cleanly & amicably. And the most powerful party should offer a graceful exit to the other party instead of a devastating blow.
I appreciate that Microsoft is, at least, offering a graceful soft landing to beloved studios instead of just killing them, offering them independence, runway, and IP control.
Classy business practices that many destructive suits in the game industry don’t follow.
