Some of you aren’t afraid of socialism. You’re afraid someone you consider beneath you might receive something you had to struggle for. And instead of questioning why you had to struggle, you’ve decided everyone else should suffer too. Fascinating little psychological prison you’ve built.
I don’t tend to like hyper realistic images, but it’s hard not to be fascinated by Dan Witz’ mosh pit paintings. The violence has something religiously sacred about it, like a Ruben’s painting.
The fact that we went from "Wikipedia is not a legitimate source of information" in school to "Just ask AI / ChatGPT to get it done" is actually really insulting to me frankly
here's what i wish someone told me years ago:
1. you become the thoughts you repeat every day. keep comparing yourself to others, doubting yourself, and expecting the worst, and eventually even a good life starts to feel like a bad one.
2. your emotions aren’t your enemies. sometimes fear shows you what you really care about. anger tells you when something isn’t right. and anxiety often comes from worrying about a future that hasn’t even happened yet.
3. motivation will come and go. that’s life. what matters is what you keep doing even when you don’t feel like doing anything. your habits shape you more than your occasional bursts of motivation ever will.
4. stop letting your past define you. you made mistakes. you’ve been through things. learn from them, but don’t spend the rest of your life living there.
5. you can’t control everything that happens to you. you can’t control what people think, how things turn out or what tomorrow brings. but you can control what you do next.
be kinder to yourself. you’re still becoming the person you’re meant to be.
Vtubing only "works" conceptually in Japan because they're best understood as modern geishas: an "art person" (that's the literal definition) who is an expert host & conversationalist.
They're professional artists and companions, *NOT* courtesans (oiran).
