One of the best quotes this page has ever posted!
“Leadership is very easy when you’re doing something you care about.”
– Seamus Coleman on RTÉ Sport before facing Hungary.
Just think about it…
You’re 37.
Your club barely plays you because they think your legs are gone.
Your country leaves you out early in the campaign because you’re not getting minutes.
Then, when everything is slipping away, they call you back.
And what do you do?
You set the standard, and drag everyone with you from the brink… all the way to a World Cup playoff that looked impossible not long ago.
Never underestimate character. Always back it.
@Nick_Delehanty Government looking to sub work out their paying the exact same as private sector. The problem is supply and demand in trades people and energy costs. We need an army of trades people and complete culture of encouraging people to do trades not post-grad in arts.
@LiamHalligan Sorry to hear Liam, This story deserves a telling on countless Irish people who lived and grew up like your family and should be told on GB or documented. A tiny green woven thread goes through the fabric of London in a time passed. Your dads story is amazing @davidmcw
@CraicAddict89 I dabble on twitter up and down but remember! below, a wise mate who works in this game told me, remember Andrew what drives X and sites like it is fear and negativity that's what's mainly on it % of tweets is more negative than positive, people can drive negativity
When I was 19 years old I dropped out of college to try to escape a bad situation, and I ended up at my grandparent's dairy farm. I spent many days making and selling cheese, doing deliveries, milking cows, and keeping the shop open. Then I'd go back to my room and write at night. It was the first time in a long time I felt some kind of peace.
I ended up leaving to go to Austin because I was scared of leading a mediocre, insular life. In those years since I've published 5 books, been a game designer at multiple companies, got married, and had a child. But now I can see how every decision has led me back here. Back home to the farm my grandparent's left behind for me. Back to starting up my grandfather's cheese business again. Back home to a life that is not mediocre, as I'd presumed before, but instead infinite in its depth.
Anyway, I hope you like this cheddar I made for you.
@SecretDiary@BGatesIsaPyscho@Keir_Starmer To be fair the same shit was going on with the last lot, it's not better but it's not exactly a light switch gone off and things are different
In 1953 my Dad founded Dalkey Utd football club and to see kids still playing ball for Dalkey would make him so proud. I hope in another 75 odd years, writers will still be coming to Dalkey as part of the festival long after I am gone.
