Absolute nonsense. Backing into parking spots is 🐐.
The back in is superior in safety, efficiency and has the added benefit of enraging people who cannot comprehend others doing something different than them.
Physics: You put your pivot at the back of the vehicle, literally making it easier to direct the vehicle. Pulling in puts your steering ability in first and limits correction.
Guidance: It's far easier to see where you're going with a camera telling you how to align / where to stop.
Data: All traffic data from NSA and AAA showcase that backing out into traffic / pedestrians is worse than backing into a space.
Weed legalization *has* gone smoothly, esp. compared to alcohol prohibition and for the millions of ppl no longer arrested annually. Problems exist and policy adjustments need to be made but so much of the 'failure' rhetoric comes down overblown complaints abt the smell.
@dogwoodblooms hopefully the @NCGOP can eventually pass a budget and set aside more funding for conservation easements giving cash strapped farmers an option to generate funds while not selling their farms
Still waiting for a progressive candidate or lawmaker to turn their single-payer rhetoric into a specific legislative proposal.
40 years of activism. Zero legislative proposals specifying: A) a new payment system to save all this money, B) how to finance it. Ever wonder why? 🤔
Mamdani: "Government efficiency — these are words that somehow have been understood as if they are Republican priorities, when in fact they're the priorities of anyone who believes in the public sector. Any yet, Elon Musk took that language and used it to cut as many jobs that were as critical as possible for so many of the neediest people across the country and across the world. Ours is going to be a focus on actually delivering efficiency. Not as a byword for cutting services, but actually a sincere commitment to efficiency. And we firmly believe not only in closing the last chapter of city government, but in starting the new one. The proposals that COGE will be looking at will be ones that we view as critical to unlocking the full potential of city government.”
@BrianLewisforNC@ForwardCarolina So you're saying if gov't wasn't do big and touched nearly every aspect of our lives there wouldn't be such a demand for lobbyist? Hmmm, interesting concept
The universal decline in poverty is astonishing. It has happened literally EVERWHERE that adopted a market system. Can be a mixed bag, for culture and society, but to dismiss the decline of poverty is the sort of weird selfish solipsism of the trust fund leftist.
It's total bullshit that 3rd parties in America today are still having to fight the parties in power for ballot access.
We must welcome fresh ideas from new candidates, not shitcan them before they ever get a fighting chance to civically participate.
