Friends, beware of hackers showing up in your DMs acting as a journalist for a major post.

Yesterday I had someone pretending to be from @CoinDesk request an interview with me. They asked me some basic questions and provided context to the article they were writing.

I’ve done several interviews with major news sources in the past so none of this seemed sketchy. I answered the questions, she said thanks, & at the end she asked me to sign a “consent form” so they could use my content for their article.

I thought this was weird but I opened the article and low & behold there was a “verify & link” button accompanied with an email address option.

Being safe, I scanned the website and everything showed it as safe. The X account was also also verified. BUT just as further precaution I had a friend of mine in IT scan the website and they found a direct issue with that verify & link button. I then messaged @CoinDesk and they got back to me this morning providing info that the person was not an employee.

Be careful out there guys. I’d hate to see you lose access to your X account & possibly get sim swapped.

@elonmusk @Support please remove @meravozair as they are impersonating someone & trying to hack/sim swap to gain access to peoples financials.
