We have 60-80M Italian descendants in Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay. I'd make it easier for second and third generations of Italians who emigrated to get back to Italy and, once they establish residency, unlock citizenship in 24-36 months.

Let's bring them back. If we could get 5-10% of them back over 10-15 years, we would revert the demographic.

Add to it fiscal incentives for relocating to the south (not Rome or Milan), like prolonged Impatriati regime, and you'd create an incentive in attracting skilled people, culturally aligned, in the regions that need it the most.

In 10 years, we'd address the demographic crisis while attracting ambitious people who'd contribute to the country's future.

Bonus: most of them grew up with a glorious image of Italy in their mind, the Italy of old times. I don't think reigniting that sentiment would hurt at all.
