A parcela dos brasileiros que associam a pobreza à "preguiça de pessoas que não querem trabalhar" foi de 22%, em 2022, para 40%, em 2026.

Esse é o principal — e preocupante — resultado da pesquisa Datafolha sobre o comportamento dos brasileiros.

Este número é fruto de intensa campanha, espalhada por toda a internet, que procura atacar os programas de apoio e proteção social do governo brasileiro.

Esta explicação simplista sempre esteve presente na sociedade brasileira, mas foi o bolsonarismo que radicalizou esse discurso.

Procuram explicar a pobreza apontando a preguiça como fator relevante, afastando, assim, qualquer outra explicação social ou econômica para as classes marginalizadas.

Mesmo entre os beneficiários do Bolsa Família, BPC e outros programas, vemos essa crítica.

Empresários, especialmente youtubers, justificam sua dificuldade para contratar empregados pela existência de benefícios sociais.

O Papa Leão XIV, na sua exortação apostólica "Dilexi Te", tratou de forma magistral deste problema:

"Os pobres não existem por acaso ou por um cego e amargo destino. Muito menos a pobreza é uma escolha, para a maioria deles. No entanto, ainda há quem ouse afirmá‑lo, demonstrando cegueira e crueldade. Entre os pobres há também, obviamente, aqueles que não querem trabalhar, talvez porque seus antepassados, que trabalharam a vida toda, morreram pobres. Mas há muitos homens e mulheres que trabalham de manhã à noite, recolhendo papelão, por exemplo, ou realizando outras atividades semelhantes, embora saibam que este esforço servirá apenas para sobreviver e nunca para melhorar verdadeiramente as suas vidas... Não podemos dizer que a maioria dos pobres está nessa situação porque não obtiveram 'méritos' de acordo com a falsa visão da meritocracia, segundo a qual parece que só tem mérito aqueles que tiveram sucesso na vida..."

O resultado da pesquisa do Datafolha é preocupante e mostra o dano que faz essa campanha infame e continuada na internet.

O lado positivo disso tudo é que esta visão retrógrada é bem menor entre as mulheres, provavelmente mais próximas dos problemas e menos envenenadas pelas ideologias do ódio.
