Wrote a little blog post about why you should be using surprise/reactions/distance with your encounter tables. It contains the best encounter table I've ever written.
This is the result of a lot of hard work by very creative people!
I wanted to do an actual play with competitive elements and I wanted it to be something we could share with our audience.

@MeatCastleGW I rarely read those box text except key info directly to solving puzzles or pivotal stories because paraphrasing and/or reading key pts are easier to sign and get the big picture of what's next.

my upcoming work plans (aside from comic) are to finish and release ICON and a second (much smaller) rpg, and then I will (hopefully) be able to release a regular magazine on itch that will have content for my games, maybe even including lancer
I keep thinking of the double-edged sword of partial success.
On one hand, they do help move the story forward.
On the other hand, coming up with complications every time can be taxing.
That got me thinking: what if we reversed the way we look at partial success?
