@Kpedeaux Watching the Quarter wake up in the morning is so peaceful and lovely. There’s something about an early morning walk through there that makes everything feel right.
@LUFC1992_v2@MikeTheTiger@LSU Overpass Merchant. It’s a small restaurant, literally underneath the highway. Their cheese curds will make you believe a higher power exists.
@LUFC1992_v2@MollyPitcherNow Mine and my husband’s favorite date night is Sylvain. Sit at the bar, have a Sazerac and fried green tomatoes, and enjoy a post -dinner wander in the Quarter!
@fiago7 Depends on the city. If you’re not looking for a chain, ask a local. They’re going to be so excited to share with you! I’m from New Orleans and always send people to Clover Grill or Port of Call.
@FreddyLA7 If you happen to be up late in New Orleans (🤭), Backspace Bar at 139 Chartres makes great cocktails that won’t cost a fortune, and their grown-up grilled cheese is the best late night snack around.
@AccidentalCajun I lived downtown in college, moved to Maryland for 10 years, and moved back to Hammond 9 years ago. We love our Saturday morning farmers market runs, coffee at Luma, the Brew and Benny’s, date night at Cena. My only complaint is no good grocery stores!
@uxorious100 Wonder if it’s regional? I live in a suburb in South Louisiana, and we always have kids outside playing and neighbors walking around with their dogs and people fishing in the ponds. It’s boring, but in a really pleasant way.
@mom_of_littles My husband and kids have dubbed this “bougie grilled cheese”: I add chopped walnuts, diced Granny Smith, arugula, and carmelized onions. Mix of mozzarella, sharp cheddar, and goat.
@GamewithDave Getting dropped off by our parents at the mall or the movie theater or the skating rink with a $10 bill and a “See y’all in a couple hours!” It was freedom and being trusted and friend time without phones.
