Boundary setting is easy for some people but very difficult for others
With the experience of boundary violations comes a belief that your needs, wants & voice no longer matter
It takes time, awareness & deep recovery to learn to set healthy boundaries
Be gentle with yourself.
It's super common, when you grew up in an unpredictable, painful environment, to create a world inside your own head & heart that was safe & soothing.
It's why so many trauma survivors go on to create art-- we've been imaginatively improving upon "reality" our entire lives.
Retelling our trauma narrative again & again, w/o changing anything about our experience of it, is just retraumatizing ourselves-- reinforcing our feelings of powerlessness & shame.
You don't owe ANYONE repeated retellings of your trauma narrative. Revisit it on YOUR terms only.
🐱 I don't know what kind of photos to upload on Instagram, I don't know about making the feed pretty. I don't take many pictures either so... I still haven't grasped the feel of Instagram
