Five million jobs are possible. South Africa does not have a shortage of people willing to work, it has a shortage of political will. Tackle corruption, secure the borders, heavy taxes, fix infrastructure, energy issues and support for small businesses. Jobs will follow.
Khumbudzo needs media training, man. It’s like every time she speaks she pours petrol on a fire, or starts it - even when what she is saying is right. The minister in the Presidency really ought to be a far better communicator and more media savvy than this.
Maybe I missed something but I’m not understanding the furore about the DA reshuffle. Nobody is usurping the powers of the President - the President is leading a multi-party government and the parties in that govt are entitled to recall their deployees or reconfigure their caucus within the portfolios under their control. Surely this can’t be a shocker?
I’m actually surprised it took so long post conference.
(Sidenote: If the gwazists were in government you know this would’ve been a quarterly occurrence🙃).

Means a lot to the Muslim and coloured communities in Cape Town and South Africa to see their sons make higher honours in SA Rugby.
Inspiring the next generation.
Warms my heart to witness SA rugby evolving to become more inclusive & representative:
{WATCH 🎥} Minister of Electricity and Energy, Dr. Kgosientsho Ramokgopa graciously accepts the Africa Energy Forum (aef2026) Lifetime Achievement Award for the country ending Load Shedding and strengthening South Africa’s energy security.
Accepting the award which he insists was a group effort, Dr Ramokgopa called Deputy Minister, Ms Samantha Graham-Maré and Eskom GCEO, Mr Dan Marokane on stage to share in the honour and commended Mr Marokane and rest of 46 000 Eskom guardians for their great service to end Load Shedding.

You invited them with no housing plan. No job plan. No integration plan. Just a speech about ubuntu. And now we are the problem for complaining? Your incompetence is killing our people.
Some small leader said that the foreigners must find creative ways to enter SA. Now the Malawians are stuck in Sherwood, the small leader is nowhere to be seen.
Durban’s container terminal was the world’s most improved port in the 2025 CPPI rankings, with operational reforms and private-sector investment plans driving a sharp turnaround.

Disbanding an effective & efficient crime fighting machinery like the DSO (Scorpions) and replacing them with the toothless DPCI (Hawks) which is fraught with crooked cops was one of the biggest blunders made by govt. Fraud, corruption & violent crime wouldn’t be at their zenith.
Youth unemployment in South Africa currently stands at 45.8% ‼️😕
a staggering 4.7m young people are locked out of the economy with no jobs
it’s a national crisis when so much potential & talent evaporates into an economically lost generation
I didn’t expect those who attended the conference of the left to speak with one voice post the conference. I expected them to speak with one voice on issues included in the declaration assuming it was based on consensus. Maybe it is just difficult to hide rightwing conservatism.
Our black elites are busy looting and we are just worrying them with this illegal immigration thing. They have bigger priorities to deal with, such as looting, peddling drugs, rigging tenders, eating state resources and so on.
