@Hunsenbargen@sergio103040@ShitpostRock Why wasn't the entire Christian civilization against slavery? Were most of them not following Christian doctrine? Or is it simply anti-slavery sentiment came from the humans more than the religion.
@Tharizdun03@jusistn@tksebaa Do you think that feudal Japan has modern sensibilities? The citizens would not focus on their discrimination. They would go "What? The Uchiha were planning a coup that would have resulted in a ton of us dying? Let's go desecrate their graves!"
@CapablePerform1@Shmee_Is_Me@G0ffThew Those are the self-inserters who desperately want Rudeus to be some sort of good person who made bad choices. It's not a story about becoming a good person. It's a character study on how much a bad person can realistically improve given the circumstances, and hopefully be a net+.
@DomboDucky@SuenoImpos1ble@luvshin_ It sounds to me like people for whom this dynamic destroys his character really wants Rudeus to be some sort of good person who made poor choices in life, while to me the story was always about seeing how much a bad person can realistically change. 2/2
@DomboDucky@SuenoImpos1ble@luvshin_ I agree it should have been explored, but you have to ask for what reason he wasn't originally a predator. A moral line he wouldn't cross? Absolutely not. He thinks about grooming Sylphie, and SA'ing Eris crosses any line ignorance could possibly excuse. 1/2
@DomboDucky@SuenoImpos1ble A dynamic being unexplored doesn't ruin the entire character. It's a lack of development, but how does that change his overall character arc? Is it that surprising a loser who didn't care who he hurt was a predator?
@Housariapl Case in point, a conversation between two female characters about how women are good for nothing but childbirth technically passes the Bechdel test.
@NikaHoshin@CrazyMashuFan@Kaguya_Astrea That entirely depends on your values. The target audience sees his biggest flaw being an apathetic parasite to those around him, which he changes tremendously. Others sees his biggest flaw being a sex pest which the story isn't remotely about resolving.
@phantompillo@Trulyeminence@BittyCommitee@__Roos_@Un1verssF4stest The Kamo and Gojo clan wanted them removed. Jujutsu Headquarters (the ultra-traditionalists who put the decision on hold) did not. Using delay tactics instead of outright refusing is a common way to kick the can down the road without too much backlash.
@phantompillo@Trulyeminence@BittyCommitee@__Roos_@Un1verssF4stest The panel I shared refers to the two other companies calling themselves The Three Nobles even though the third one collapsed ages ago. You've never seen ultra-traditionalists commit performative acts even though it contradicts underlying substance?
@phantompillo@Trulyeminence@BittyCommitee@__Roos_@Un1verssF4stest The higher-ups were all hyper-conservatives who do not like acknowledging change. Two members remaining was all the excuse they needed to kick the can down the road, even if the two had no intentions of reviving the clan.
@Guts_Swordsman@dshaynie@NekomuraAkane@StupidCatPone Oh, so once the lack of explanations was reveal to just be your lack of literacy, you pivot to calling it lame? But I get it, you'd have to deflect from your own shortcomings by any means necessary. I hope you don't do the same with actual important things in life.
