My only solace rn is knowing I live in New Jersey. Jersey has held strong in progressing healthcare, woman’s rights, gay rights, education and more through multiple elections. I will not be moving anytime soon. Good luck everyone else.
@JeunesseEt65768 @KyleMWN@matthewdmarsden@2RawTooReal You are so spot on. I have tried numerous times on this platform to have respectful discourse and have been met with sloppy anti-intellectualism and vitriol.
I appreciate your succinct explanation and analysis.

@rydethesnow@MamaGoddess1@matthewdmarsden@2RawTooReal I agree with you. I am not a democrat. I believe both parties are enacting great evils that will hurt people. But right now, trump and the republicans have most the power so I’m focusing on them, and I’m tired of hearing about the dems when I complain about REPUBLICAN policies
@MamaGoddess1@matthewdmarsden@2RawTooReal I respect that sentiment but unfortunately it does not answer my question. What’s actually stopping them? The American government has shown time and time again it is not invested in protecting minorities or marginalized groups so thinking they’ll be fined is wishful thinking
@MamaGoddess1@matthewdmarsden@2RawTooReal I don’t see what’s stopping employers from just *saying* they’re not discriminating even if they are. I could just *say* there were no qualified minorities and employ an all white workforce, no?
@matthewdmarsden@2RawTooReal We have never had a meritocracy. And taking away legal obligations to NOT discriminated based on those things is not the same as a meritocracy. Employers who don’t want, let’s say Hispanic workers, can now legally deny them no matter how qualified they are. Doesn’t seem wrong?
