Talking about my research in front of the #SOUPS2022 audience was an amazing experience for me. Thanks a lot to everyone involved!
Special thanks to @adamaviv for attending the mentoring program and sharing your insights! Academia needs more people like you ;)
I am constantly amazed by the incredible things people create. Zero is one of those things that show what's possible with passion and hard work.
Impressive work @mi_kotalik and thanks again for trying out some of my VR work back then.
Zero V2 finally in my hands

🔐Excited to be part of @floschaub and @erant's Privacy & Security subcommittee at CHI 2025.
If you are interested in sharing work on human and usability aspects of privacy and security consider submitting to #chi2025 (and select the P&S subcommittee).
@morganklauss I like it, thanks for sharing your thoughts. A small addition: almost everything you posted applies to more senior folks too. I saw excellent reviews from early phds and poor reviews from very (!) senior people. So why not address *everyone* who is reviewing with your tips? :)
@UweGruenefeld @ACMMobileHCI Sorry to hear, Uwe. This is not acceptable. I hope there are consequences for both the 1AC and the 2AC. IMO it is 1AC's responsibility that this does not happen, or at least the 1AC could have jumped in here.
Are you interested in doing some exciting virtual intern projects on AR/VR/XR, brain computer interfaces etc.. come work with one of the leading research institutions without leading home - details here: https://t.co/QMh6wDuL5I @EmpathicCompLab#AR#VR#XR#internships
Congrats to everyone who had #chi2024 paper accepted!
And, a request: what if we made our expressions of joy and excitement less about the fact that we had N papers accepted, and more about the ideas those individual papers represent?

@drmaxlwilson With these awards and privileges (e.g., being able to present only if awarded "best paper" or honourable mention), I wonder if we are increasingly turning towards an even more competitive environment. Is this truly the direction we, as a community, want to take? 2/2
@drmaxlwilson Do we need awards at all? If we start highlighting outstanding papers based on specific criteria, eg. method, prototype, analysis, then maybe. As long as the criteria are unclear/arbitrary, it may be challenging to understand why a paper is considered the "best paper" 1/2
@UweGruenefeld The SC have access to emergency reviewers. You may want to ping them via our internal communication channel to see if they have someone with appropriate expertise.
