This is why access matters.
For the first time in over a year #UNHCR & partners reached #Kutum, North Darfur & supported 1,000 displaced families.
Reaching communities in such underserved areas in #Darfur has been challenging, yet the needs remain immense.
Attacks on health continue to push #Sudan’s health system to the brink - injuring & killing patients & health workers, damaging facilities.
The latest attack on a hospital in Sennar on 15 February injured 7 people, among them a health worker, & killed 3.
🛑Stop attacks on health!
During the first 50 days of 2026, 5 attacks on health care have already been recorded in #Sudan, killing 69 people and injuring 49.
In the latest incident on 15 February, an attack on Al Mazmoum Hospital in Sudan's southeastern Sennar State, left 3 patients dead and 7 more people wounded, including a health worker.
@WHO calls for an immediate end to all attacks on health. Healthcare - facilities, assets, health workers and patients - must be protected.
Peace is long overdue in Sudan.
Nearly 3 years into #Sudan’s war – over 1,000 days of relentless violence – civilians are paying the price.
We urge those with influence to:
• Respect international humanitarian law
• Protect aid workers
• Press for an immediate end to the fighting

1,000 days of war in Sudan.
But also 1,000 days of people holding life together.
A nurse who stayed.
A family that returned.
A community that refused to let services collapse.

As the holy month of #Ramadan begins, let us remember the millions of people in #Sudan who will struggle to eat one meal a day.

"No woman should lose her life giving life. A woman living in a conflict-affected country faces a lifetime risk of maternal death of 1 in 51. In stable settings, it is is 1 in 593."
Maternal deaths spike during war & instability, new @WHO report warns.

Across the Kordofan region in Sudan, we're seeing the same disturbing patterns from Darfur – children killed, injured, displaced and cut off from the services they need to survive.
Children must always be protected.👇 https://t.co/FJQyY39pAE
We condemn the latest attacks on civilians in #Sudan.
In one week, drones reportedly struck two primary schools in Dilling, South Kordofan, destroying buildings, and hit a market in Adikonq, West Darfur, causing deaths, injuries and major damage.
Civilians are #NotATarget.
Human rights need you.
In 2025, @UNHumanRights supported hundreds of thousands of people – a lifeline for the abused & a voice for the silenced. But we are in survival mode. We need to step up investment in this low-cost, high-impact work.

🆕 Update:
In Dilling, South Kordofan State, prolonged insecurity has pushed needs to crisis levels.
In Tawila, North Darfur State, new arrivals need urgent assistance.
We call for protection of civilians, safe access & increased funding to save lives.

Thousands are fleeing in search of safety
@UNHCRinSudan + partners are on the ground: they need access and resources to meet the needs in White Nile and Kordofan
The growing global backlash against gender equality risks erasing decades of progress on women’s rights. We need more leadership & advocacy – like that of @UN_WGDAWG – to push back, regain momentum, & amplify the voices of all women & girls.
