Happy Father's Day to those whose families remain whole.
Mine was torn apart by deliberate open-border and sanctuary policies implemented, encouraged, and defended by @JoeBiden and @GovPritzker in Illinois.
Katie Abraham should still be here.
These were policy choices, not accidents, and American families like mine are living with the consequences everyday.
Are there any words for families like ours?
Have you looked at the devastation these policies have left behind on ordinary Americans?
This is exactly how so many of us feel in Illinois under @GovPritzker and the supermajority.
But I hope your words are right.
We need to convince Illinoisans who have given up and believe there's never enough hope left to change our state's trajectory.
We must turn that feeling of "not enough" into "more than enough" and prove Illinois can still be saved.
I don't blame anyone for choosing not to live here.
As lifelong Illinoisans and the children of legal immigrants, it's heartbreaking to say that my family plans to leave as soon as our careers allow.
No one should feel forced to leave the state they love, especially when that state has turned its back on families like ours.
I wrote more about this here: https://t.co/X6AOL4GAUJ
The tone-deafness is off the charts.
An illegal immigrant with glaring red flags was issued an Illinois driver's license under @Giannoulias' watch, allowed on our roads, and killed my daughter Katie and another young woman while injuring three others.
Katie was not the first victim and was not the last.
Bang up job @giannoulias
So, don't lecture us about safety. We taught Katie how to be responsible on our roads. Clearly safety means nothing to you and Katie paid the price for your failures.
If @Giannoulias would rather play "athlete" in his old-man leagues and network with powerful political insiders, he should leave public office and do just that.
Illinois needs leaders who think independently and prioritize public safety—not officials who simply follow orders.
.@GovSherrillNJ, where is the consistency?
Where is the empathy for the victims of policies you claim have no negative consequences?
They do.
My daughter Katie is one of them.
Please look beyond political loyalty and ideology.
Work with DHS to find a proper balance between compassion and public safety.
Immigration policies without guardrails are not the answer.
Families like mine are the collateral damage.
You must do better.
The Left: “Believe All Women!”
British Women: “250,000+ of us were systematically raped and tortured by mostly Pakistani men from the 1950s to now with help from our police, social workers, NHS staff and politicians.”
The Left: “Yea, not you.”
I wish I could tell your father, Joe, what his policies cost my family.
He and his policies helped take one of the three most precious things in my life, my daughter, Katie.
Katie, was killed by an illegal immigrant who should never have been in this country.
Previously deported but walked back into our country with ease in 2022.
You get to defend a legacy. While I visit and tend to a grave your families policies help create.
You get speeches, interviews, and second chances. Katie got none. She just got an unnatural death.
I don't want political theater.
I want my old life back.
But your father's policies helped take that away.
For some families, these policies weren't talking points. They were life sentences.
And @GovPritzker say her name. Katie.
Congresswoman @RepJayapal , every life matters.
How many Americans have been killed or harmed through preventable tragedies linked to the policies you support?
My daughter, Katie Abraham, was killed by an illegal immigrant who had been previously deported and had multiple red flags that basic screening should have caught.
Do Katie and families like ours matter too?
Compassion cannot be selective.
@SenWarren Yeah…just think of all the owners of Somali Day Care centers we could make rich!
How about you focus on fixing the 38 trillion dollar debt, instead of fantasizing about stealing more money from productive people.
Dear Laura Conover (@PimaCountyAtty),
My name is Brendan Jones, and this is Lucy. Ten years ago, Lucy saved my life during the war against ISIS. In return, I brought her home with me. While you may not be familiar with her story, millions of people around the world are.
We are writing to you today out of deep concern for a case in Pima County involving a family dog named Snuggles. Snuggles, an Anatolian Shepherd, has been placed on a court-ordered euthanasia list following an incident in which he bit a family member. At the time, the dog was agitated and acting to defend his home and family during a coyote incursion on the property. The entire family, including the individual who was bitten, is devastated by the possibility of losing him.
Snuggles is a large working breed traditionally used as a livestock guardian. At the time of the incident, he was an intact male who had not yet reached the appropriate age for neutering. I have personal experience with this breed, having used Anatolian Shepherds to protect my own flocks of sheep. It is well established that neutering intact males of this breed often produces a noticeable and positive change in temperament, reducing reactivity and certain aggressive behaviors.
Snuggles has now reached an age where neutering is both appropriate and recommended. I am confident that, once neutered, any concerns about future aggression would be substantially alleviated.
Before we consider raising additional public awareness about this case, we wanted to bring it directly to your attention in the hope that a reasonable resolution can be reached quietly and without unnecessary scrutiny. We respectfully ask that you personally review the matter. We believe common sense and compassion can still prevail here.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Very respectfully,
Brendan Jones and Lucy, “America’s Dog”

Secretary @Giannoulias , your message about public safety is impossible to reconcile with what happened to my daughter.
Katie was killed by an intoxicated illegal immigrant who obtained an Illinois driver's license through the system you oversee. And despite a horrible background.
Two young women lost their lives because multiple safeguards failed.
What has changed since Katie's death?
What accountability has anyone taken?
What reforms have been implemented to ensure this never happens again?
If you cannot answer those questions, then you should resign immediately.
Public office is not about social media videos or political ambition.
It is about accepting responsibility when the systems under your watch fail.
Katie deserved better. Illinois families deserve better.
Lucy is getting used to her muzzle. She actually has started stepping forward when she sees me pick it up, because she knows that means we're going outside.
A muzzle definitely beats euthanasia.
Give Snuggles a chance.

"Show me your papers" is a powerful slogan.
But slogans don't answer hard questions.
@GovPritzker says even one wrongful stop is unacceptable and demands policy change.
My daughter, Katie, was killed in Urbana by someone who was in this country illegally and had a history of serious problems. Illinois' sanctuary and "welcoming" policies failed to protect her.
After she was killed, @GovPritzker didn't reconsider those policies or add meaningful safeguards. He doubled down.
Why does one alleged harm from enforcement require action, but one preventable death from failed enforcement does not?
Leadership isn't measured by the slogans we use or the outrage we amplify.
Leadership is measured, wise, just, and compassionate. It applies the same standards to its own policies that it demands of others.
@GovPritzker say her name. Katie.
The lack of self-reflection from @GovPritzker is staggering.
My daughter Katie was visiting friends at the University of Illinois in Urbana.
Katie never made it home.
She couldn't even get out of Urbana alive.
The illegal immigrant convicted in Katie's death had a horrific background and serious health issues, yet he was issued an Illinois driver's license.
He received protections and consideration that Katie never did.
What kind of governor ignores a grieving family and refuses to confront the consequences of his policies?
Illinois deserves better.
Accountability matters. @TheJusticeDept...Illinoisans need help!
We spent months teaching Katie how to drive safely.
Illinois families take that responsibility seriously.
Katie earned her divers license.
@Giannoulias, you act like a celebrity when Illinois needs a public servant.
Katie paid the price for a state government that treats public safety as secondary to politics and image management, both you and your master @GovPritzker.
What an awful way to live.
Some of us visit graves. You post basketball photos.
The callousness is staggering and the tone-deafness is off the charts.
Katie followed the rules. You handed out DL and CDL's like candy to anyone.
Katie should still be alive not for your reckless office.
Stop pretending to be an athlete.
Start acting like a Secretary of State.
@BernieSanders Elon Musk creates 4400 millionaires to include hundreds of working-class people in one IPO.
Bernie has created 1 millionaire. Himself.
Stop listening to socialists. They don't know how to create wealth, only how to steal it.
.@Giannoulias is as clueless about consequences as .@GovPritzker, .@SenatorDurbin, and .@SenDuckworth.
Your office gave a driver's license to an illegal immigrant with a horrific background. He later drove intoxicated and killed two women, including my daughter Katie.
Katie will never attend another sporting event, swim again, or live the future she deserved.
The policies you supported helped create the environment that put Katie in her grave.
Any words for Katie @giannoulias or @GovPritzker?
Or is accountability something you expect only from others?
Katie's dead because of an illegal immigrant your policies funded and protected.
That's who you protect.
Katie and the other victims your reckless policies created deserved protection too.
Yet you never acknowledge the lives shattered by the consequences of those policies or accept responsibility for the risks they created.
Spare us the lectures about protecting children.
@GovPritzker say her name. Katie.
🇺🇸 The voice of the people is a powerful one! The fact that Lucy is back home sitting at my feet right now is evidence of exactly that.
Speak out—use your voice—make a difference! The government should not be allowed to abuse its power to squash good people! This is NOT what America is about and it’s shameful!
Sign and share this petition and let’s get Snuggles home!!
