🥘Halliwell community kitchen 🧑🏾‍🍳♨️

🌟 We had the pleasure of welcoming Cllr Baggy Khan, of Halliwell, Cllr hanif ali, to our All Souls Bolton site to see first-hand the work being delivered by Flowhesion, particularly through our Community Kitchen. Cllr Khan brings a burning passion for change 🔥and improvement 🔩for the ward that I haven’t seen in a while.

We wanted to thank our outgoing Cllr Safwaan Patel who has always supported our work as well as other orgs in the ward. He remains a true advocate for Halliwell and its thriving third sector ❤️.

Funded by Morrisons foundation our community kitchen provides hot meals to residents across Halliwell who are facing hardship.

We were delighted to have at our launch of the community kitchen last year Cllr Rabiya Jiva who has been a strong advocate for such facilities to better support Halliwell residents with food security during the cost of living crisis. 🎗️🎗️

Last year it delivered 3️⃣4️⃣3️⃣9️⃣ hotmeals to local Halliwell families 🏡 and residents. we do not discriminate based on colour, ethnicity, religion, or background. All are welcome ❤️ and we are here to support the entire Halliwell community.

🌟 We were delighted to welcome two very special guests to Flowhesion HQ at All Souls Bolton today Councillors Hanif Alli and Baghdadi Khan of Halliwell Ward.

👏 Baggy has recently been appointed as a councillor for Halliwell, one of of our youngest elected members 🎉🎉 and already brings incredible passion, commitment, and youthful energy to the role 💪🦁🔥 something that was clear for everyone to see today.

🏡 During their visit, they toured our site, met with young people, gave out prizes 🎁🏆taking part in our HAF provision, and learned more about our community kitchen 🥙🥘☎️📝and hot meal offer supporting local residents facing hardship🎗️.

💬 We also had some exciting discussions around coordinating a Summer Fun Day 🌞☀️at Rushton Park 🌳🌳alongside our partners Harmony Youth Project The Centre of Excellence Bolton for young people aged 11–18. Planned activities include:

🎮 A PlayStation bus
🚔 A prison-cell experience van
🎉 And much more to engage and inspire local young people

🙌 Both councillors were enthusiastic about supporting the event and will be attending on the day to listen directly to young people’s views on the improvements they want to see across the Halliwell area 🎙️🎤📝👂👂.

A huge thank you to both councillors for taking the time to visit and support the work happening within our community. Together, we can continue creating positive opportunities for young people and local residents alike❤️❤️.

🚶‍♀️🌟 I’m Delighted that our ‘Mams, Prams and Nans’ programme in Bolton The Flowhesion Foundation All Souls Bolton that was funded by Greater Manchester Moving Hayley Lever Richard Davis-Boreham Viv Elvidge Louise Robbins Holly Grimes has been recognised at Active Travel England National Conference 2026 for showcasing how marginalised women can become more active, connected, and confident within their community. ����

What a brilliant initiative 👏 As a serving prison chaplain , I know firsthand how important it is for young people to gain a real and sobering understanding of what life in prison is actually like 🚔🔒👮

Prison life can become incredibly lonely, especially for those struggling with mental health and other challenges 🧠💙 It’s certainly not the badge of honour 🏅that some make it out to be 🎥🎬🕶️.

All Souls Bolton BOLTON INVESTMENT- April 2026 update 💵⛪️🔔

Our modernisation programme is progressing well, with continued upgrades to our IT infrastructure 💻 📽️and a fresh new carpet 🔨🗞️installed in The vestry.

Over the weekend our joiners 🔩🪚🧰👷‍♂️🪜have been hard at work completing new storage 🗄️units to support the wide range of programmes we deliver on site 🛠️ and installing a bespoke wall for a private gallery of historic images of Bolton. 🖼️🖼️🖼️ for one of our hired spaces.

How are we doing this in a world where funding is scarce and extremely competitive❓it’s quite simple actually 🧸…

Over the last decade we set ourselves an ambitious target 🎯 to self-generate upto 4️⃣0️⃣ % of our income annually.

We’re delighted to be putting this money💰 back into incredible community spaces like all souls Bolton 🔔⛪️🌱 and to help a variety of local and national causes.

To date we’ve invested £7️⃣8️⃣, 6️⃣5️⃣4️⃣ in the All Souls Bolton site since taking it on in August 2024.

When trust ❤️is built between orgs amazing things start to take shape. 🤝

⛺️🍁🌳Anderton Centre Away Day 🌄🗺️🧭

This weekend, some of our amazing young people from our Halliwell Sports Hub and The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Award programme in Bolton took part in an action-packed few days at the Anderton Centre 🏕️

From hiking 🥾 canoeing 🚣‍♂️ to tree climbing 🌳 archery 🏹 to learning essential survival skills 🔥🧭🗺️🍁📍, the group embraced every challenge alongside an overnight stay that made the experience even more memorable ⛺️🛌.

At The Flowhesion Foundation , we’re always exploring innovative ways to help young people reach their full potential 🌟 The Duke of Edinburgh programme we deliver is such an important driver for this.

A big thank you to Beth Craigen 🙌 for recently training our volunteers in essential expedition skills Nacro put to great use over the weekend 💪! Our new minibus was also used which was a delight 🚐🚐 kindly funded by the Youth Spaces fund.

All Souls Bolton in Halliwell came alive this afternoon 🌞. Such a powerful moment demonstrating the impact grassroots organisations in Bolton have in the alcohol and substance misuse space ❤️.

The diversity and breath of activities that have taken place to support people on their recovery journeys in Bolton was astounding. From drama 🎭, arts 🎨, boxing 🥊 to hiking 🥾🗺️, biking 🚴🏽 counselling 👂and gardening 🪴🪏to name a few. All united in purpose to support those in addictions recovery🎗️.

Bolton has a thriving third sector that steps up is adaptive, responsive and pioneering 💪💪. All Souls Bolton ⛪️ will always be a hub 📚🖊️🎓 to learn share and reflect. Let’s continue to work and grow together ❤️❤️

They spoke with our young people about tackling hate crime in Bolton following completion of our Young Ambassadors Hate Crime Training, funded by Bolton CVS & Bolton Council. 🎓

📊 Over 115,000 hate crimes were recorded in England & Wales last year — many more go unreported.
That’s why empowering young people to recognise, report & challenge hate is vital. ✊✨

📍 Hate Crime Awareness Event – North Manchester 🎤

Our service users took part in a wide range of awareness-raising and creative activities 🎨🗣️ to mark Hate Crime Awareness Week.

📊 Between September 2023 and August 2024, Greater Manchester Police recorded 9️⃣6️⃣1️⃣3️⃣ hate crimes across the region.

🤝 It’s vital that we continue to empower our communities with the tools 🔨, knowledge 📚and connections 🧩 they need to understand, challenge and report hate crime ✏️because everyone deserves to feel safe and supported.

They spoke with our young people about tackling hate crime in Bolton following completion of our Young Ambassadors Hate Crime Training, funded by Bolton CVS & Bolton Council. 🎓

📊 Over 115,000 hate crimes were recorded in England & Wales last year — many more go unreported.
