I don’t normally share anything personal but this my dad from a while back explaining to my daughter he signed the Beatles. Ordinary people do extraordinary things. Great decisions are made for the simplest reasons. “I figured if I like them this much other people might too” ❤️
With $AAPL's 2025 focus on home automation / digital assistant, I really hope they deliver products that help us do things. To date they've only made a digital spy that builds personas behind the scenes which it sells to anyone and everyone.
@MMTLabour@wbmosler Incentives for home improvement:
* Increase property value
* Better and safer living space (utility)
The utilitarian approach could be more common.
Saylor was right about $AAPL in 2012. Apple sells real goods and services, the company has grown and has positive cashflow.
Bitcoin is an entry on a ledger. Its only value is whatever the next person is willing to pay for it.
“I would be very very long on Apple. Whoever is selling that stock is a moron” - @saylor in 2012.
Apple stock at the time was around $20. Today the stock is at $175
@kenklippenstein "The voters didn't give us credit for killing Medicare For All and watering down the Green New Deal thus rendering it worthless. They somehow don't realize how much we had done and how much we care for them."
-@TheDemocrats
@byHeatherLong Federal tax cuts don't need to be "paid for" because taxes don't fund spending. However there should be a tax cut for the working class.
@DarrigoMelanie No federal program can ever run out of dollars. Every time the federal government spends it's adding new money to the economy. When it taxes it removes old dollars from the economy. Nobody's taxes "pay for" anything at the federal level, including Social Security.
The offshore (India) model works for the ruling class because software engineers make about US$15 per hour at best. Good luck surviving on that anywhere in America.
Also
The majority of real work that needs to be done is not software development. Not even close.
@RepShontelBrown When they tell you "Social Security is broke" respond with "Taxes don't fund spending. No federal agency can ever ever 'go broke' because the federal government is the exclusive supplier of US dollars."
If you're a member of Congress you should know this and you should fix it.
@alpha_eos@pmarca New federal spending - dollars collected as federal tax = deficit
It all happens on the Treasury's ledger at the NY fed
No borrowing
Treasury Notes, Bills and Bonds are issued after the spending happens
(I track Daily Treasury Statements and Debt to the Penny every day)
@alpha_eos@pmarca If tax receipts are deposited into the Treasury's TGA account and used for funding govt spending then why are there always more dollars in the economy? Where do those new dollars come from?
Hey DOGE guys
You can funnel all the money you want to SpaceX et al., keep the tax cuts, AND not f*ck over the rest of us.
This is because taxes don't fund spending. The federal government creates every dollar in the economy.
@Econ_Marshall If you admit to being "gullible and stupid" then you're probably not cut out to be a journalist. Your job is to be cynical and curious. You need to pull on threads and uncover things that are not obvious.
Otherwise you're a scribe for public relations agents who are playing you.
@socialiststeve6 The @DNC and @JoeBiden took a lot of money from the FIRE sector to ensure the poor remain poor. He served his masters well, and fooked the rest of us in the process.
@glenn_tunes@TheDemocrats are in the business of fundraising. Their best strategy for donations is to lose elections to an unhinged moron. The party is absent of policy. Its leaders are those most connected to big money.
BREAKING: Ro Khanna has said:
"It’s time to clean up corruption in Washington. Let’s pass my bill to:
- Ban PAC & lobbyists donations
- Ban members from becoming lobbyists
- Ban stock trading by members of Congress
- Enact term limits for Congress & SCOTUS
- Enact a code of ethics for SCOTUS"
