@xminosi@PaulSkallas Outside of the U.S. is one thing. Americans abroad should conform to local norms. But you don’t get to dictate what OUR culture is like in OUR country and denigrate our country’s cultural norm.
You say your country cannot tolerate arrogance, but it seems they tolerate you.
@RameshBotha@PaulSkallas The fact that you think positivity is artificial says more about your worldview than ours. Real sorry about whatever happened to you, tho
@xminosi@PetaaahGriffin@Zoharraa Nah, it’s not. Why are foreigners dictating what our intentions are? Thinking you know all about a foreign culture (better than the people of that culture) is insanely egotistic and arrogant, wow 🤣
@Zoharraa@PaulSkallas If you view someone’s kindness as exaggerated, fake or unnecessary, that’s a you problem. Sounds like you’re a really miserable human—sorry for you, but don’t project personal problems onto us. 🤷♀️
@algoritmunte@pieovercake@Kelburn1975@PaulSkallas And when a fish leaves its pond, it’s common to mistake its subjective evaluations as objective truth. You aren’t less blind than we are, you just have a bigger ego. But please, continue with the rarified, not at all condescending opinions of our country, which you do not live in
@algoritmunte@Kelburn1975@PaulSkallas Since you’ve been to so many countries, I’d suggest brushing up on your cultural competency skills. You clearly have no appreciation for other cultures if you generalize them this way. As an American (with a passport!) who live: in the U.S., I can say your statement is false.
@desmodus_rosae@Tweet137188103@zoomertea Ummm… speak for yourself??? I certainly don’t do this and neither do my friends or family… work on your own issues instead of projecting them onto others.
@CBeataE Absolutely ZERO Americans support annexing Canada as a serious policy issue. I know Trump supporters and other a-holes talk a big game on social media (they are dummies), but no one wants to die in a war to take Ottawa. Believe me.
@TakiVan1@politicalmath No, the point is that a girl who loves makeup and a girl who doesn’t are both equally valid and neither should be put down for their choice. It’s about women denigrating traditionally feminine traits to earn the validation of men.
@JaneDoe70213693 @elladeonRH@politicalmath Even if we take out the gender aspect, someone who puts down others to build themselves up is pretty awful. That is what a “pick me” is—saying “pick me, choose me, I’m better than the others.” Sounds like you have a problem with this?
@HandyGingerGal@IceJI@politicalmath Do you…not understand what the tweet says? Traditionally, a pick-me is someone who mocks other girls for conventionally feminine traits like wearing makeup or liking the color pink. She denigrates other girls in order to gain male acceptance. It’s not about “bad behavior.”
@KevinCastley@KingTaiwo_ As a China scholar, you are incorrect. Chinese politics don’t fit into a Western left/right dichotomy. Socially, the country is conservative leaning, the welfare state is quite weak, ind. labor unions are outlawed. Purist communist orgs who criticize the CCP are persecuted.
@morgan_rye@AmberGlennDaily She’s an ATHLETE. Her body is her profession. Athletes discussing any sports injury or body issue that affects their performance IS NORMAL. Menstruation IS NORMAL. It is not dirty or something anyone should be ashamed of. Stop stigmatizing women’s bodies and health.
