Because this post of yours only shows that you either don’t follow El-Rufai @elrufai’s case or you fundamentally lack an understanding of the case.

To begin with, El-Rufai doesn’t need anyone’s sympathy as he’s made clear.
And the above note doesn’t come as a lamentation of being abandoned by “supposed” friends, as you put it.

Secondly, what is the relevance of El-Rufai’s case to your friend in Saudi that got into trouble? I see no link here whatsoever.

What is the “trouble” that El-Rufai got into?

He was first accused of misappropriating and mismanaging Kaduna State resources while he governed the State. Charges that took them a month to produce after detaining him.
Then he was accused of wiretapping NSA Ribadu’s phone, to which there was no proof except a Deji Adeyanju who was presented as witness for being in Arise TV when El-Rufai made the statement over which he was accused.

Which of the above is the “trouble” that El-Rufai got into?

He was simply accused, and no convincing evidence has been provided almost 8 months into his detention. That’s even why he made a no case submission on the wiretapping issue.

You also claimed that the Federal Government is fighting him, but he’s been granted bail by two Federal High Courts in Kaduna and Abuja respectively. The only Court that denied & still denies him bail is the Kaduna State High Court. How comes he’s fighting the FG but her Courts were allowed to grant him “bail”, save for Kaduna High Court?
You may claim that “we all know..”, yes we all know. But that’s not a strong defence. Not when you come trying to absolve his “supposed friends”, claiming that they can do nothing.

And to be clear, “lobbying the FG” isn’t the “best” El-Rufai’s friends can do. He doesn’t even want that by the way. But if it’s all that you think of, then something is fundamentally wrong somewhere.

Supporting a friend doesn’t mean asking for a favour or lobbying on their behalf. Mere showing up, speaking up and/or utilising available legal instruments for them often send the strongest messages.

When your Emir Sanusi, then CBN Governor was suspended by Jonathan, El-Rufai was at the MMIA Lagos to receive him while he returned from Niger Republic. El-Rufai was a private citizen then and not in good terms with Jonathan, having been physically assaulted by soldiers and invited by the DSS after attempts to raid his Abuja home. Yet, he stood with his friend and dared the consequences.

Similarly, he stood up for your Emir Sanusi again when Ganduje dethroned and banished him to Loko, Nassarawa State. He was there personally to show solidarity and took Sanusi out of Loko while the legal battle was being initiated. El-Rufai even created more of a makeshift Palace for Sanusi in Kaduna as a friend.

Those are public gestures witnessed by millions of Nigerians. That can’t be said about Sanusi.

What about the Uba Sani and Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, whom El-Rufai literally made the Governor & Emir respectively? They’re even attacking him.
What about many other “friends” of El-Rufai like them.

When did any of them visit him in detention, escorted him to Court, or challenged the bail conditions that are against a Court of Appeal ruling?
If you have any evidence one of them did, please share with me.

So even if El-Rufai complains (which he didn’t), he has the right to. And you (who’s not among his friends) can’t come and claim they can do nothing. You don’t know his friends and their influence as much as him.

You should be focused on the abuse of power & judicial process against El-Rufai, not meddling in friendship with such a weak defense.

If you have an objection, do the same. Quote your sources. Let us see where you are pulling your knowledge from. And then we will gauge it against the authentic texts.
