Academics in higher positions often forget: nurturing the mental health of the PhD students is not ONLY for the students’ benefit. You want high output, papers, funding, successful research? You ain’t getting that if everyone is burnt out & depressed.

Agreed ✨ I’ve been embarrassed by this before. Definitely felt “less than” at my visit when everyone else was talking about the many other places they’d visited. But I’m inspired by @FutureDrDukes to share!

@FutureDrDukes Exactly! I thought I did great with four and couldn’t have imagined spending any more time/money than that.. I was in for a surprise when I heard other people talking 😂😅
To every PhD/grad student that has submitted/worked on a thesis, I hope you know that someone someday will read it and learn SO much from it.
I’m currently reading one from 2008 and I’m not only learning a lot, but also excited to try some of the experiments in it.
