The 7 steps I used to stand out during neurosurgery training:
1. The night before write down what you want to do.
2. Write out the first physical action. Example - You want to make a presentation. Action step - open laptop.
3. Wake up at whatever time that will give you 1 hour of uninterrupted work time.
4. Wake up and start your first physical action straight away.
5. Set a timer. Work for an hour.
6. Get on with the rest of your day.
7. Repeat for a 8 years.
There’s no magic here. Just work.
