Hasan Piker convinces three voters in Denver driving by to vote for Melat Kiros before polls close at 7PM
"What do you guys think about the data center that just popped up over here?"
"Yeah! That random one? We hate it!"
"Alright listen, Diana DeGette, who's represented this district for 30 years in congress, is saying nothing about the data centers because she's in the pocket of corporations.
Melat Kiros is gonna fight back with a data center moratorium. She wants to put a stop to these data centers being getting popped up left and right.
You guys are stuck between a data center and a Purina factory and that's not good for these little guys back there."
"It's poison, yeah."
"Do you have a ballot in your house right now?"
"I have three."
weekend in seattle so far:
- i have not seen a single laptop running claude code
- no one has mentioned ai, except to disparage it. they don't know gpt5.5 just dropped
- many young people are unemployed, but in a genuine way and not the gross "starting something big" way
everyone is relaxed. the performative anxieties of the bay area do not exist here. no one has told me about their startup. much to consider
Are we sad for this kid because her parents won’t let her us AI or because she used AI in the first place to help her navigate very normal kid problems that it is developmentally important for kids to figure out? Because “9 year olds should not be talking to chat bots” generally seems like a good principle?
