Looks like FFXI's updated Free Trial is rolling out next month.

- Unlimited play time.
- Level cap of 75
- Base Jobs + Pre-RoZ Jobs (No DRG, NIN, SAM. SMN Heavily hindered by this but playable)
- No Expansion Zones/Added Scenarios like Rhapsodies
- 3 Characters, though if you go to the full game that'd cost $14.99/mo to keep all 3.
- 100k gil cap
- No AH, Bazaar or Trading with other players
- Can only catch 10 fish a day (lol)
- 3 Trusts Max (Makes sense since RoV is required to get more). Also no Unity Trusts.
- No tell/shouts/yells, but you can reply to personal messages or add them through PoL and use that messaging system.

I love every time I see a new person get to this scene. It kinda highlights Ishikawa's tendency to sort of poke and prod at the player and create memorable character interactions.

People will meme on the idea of a game reaching through the screen and talking to the player but reading this when it was current and everything that was going on in 2021 simultaneously resulted in this being a legit sort of breakdown for me at the time. I was like "Well...has it?"

Venat has like zero padded screentime, every single line establishes why she is the way she is and almost every conversation is a memorable scene in the game on the level of the DRK quests for me.
