Well what a brilliant 2 days. It was good to see old friends and meet and make some new ones, all hung on the events of 44 years ago.
Time and history move on and I hope I opened up the archives for those with an interest in using them.
Really enjoyed speaking at the Manchester University Falklands War Conference. I spoke on the modern Falkland Islands and the legacy of the Falklands War. #Falklands 🇫🇰 🇬🇧
Fantastic start to the second day of the Manchester University Falklands War Conference. A brilliant presentation from Rear Admiral Jeremy Laken, but including voices from many of the key players. #Falklands 🇫🇰🇬🇧
Se viene este precioso seminario de posgrado, 100% virtual, a cargo de Marcelo Borrelli y en el que tendré el gustazo de hacer una colaboración. Toda la info acá: https://t.co/PogA3pjNXc
Agradecemos difusión!
@1adrianlogan@AndrewKenyon6@OfficerofEngin1 I thinks so. Seeing young students with an interest in 1982 and its place in history, was good.
I used the opportunity to push the 50th anniversary, as we need to ensure all aspects can be represented.
@1adrianlogan@AndrewKenyon6@OfficerofEngin1 To gather vets, historians and students together, to share and discuss the events of 44 years ago. A number of papers discussed more recent events and how they compared or were influenced by Op Corporate.
Fantastic session at the Manchester University Falklands War Conference, on the land battle aspect of the war, with speeches from Gen Sir Michael Rose, Lt Col Philip Neame, Maj Gen Dair Farrar-Hockley, and Rear Admiral Jeremy Laken. #Falklands 🇫🇰🇬🇧

#falklands#malvinas@fm44conference Prof Virginia Gamba explores the origins of an asymmetric conflict between UK and Argentina. Why did diplomacy fail? Perceptions in the 60s and 70s so different.
