Dear Rooties, Union Bridge is now live on @rootstock_io Testnet, introducing a new bridge architecture powered by @bitvmx . This represents a major milestone for Bitcoin interoperability.

Most bridges have one major weakness which is TRUST. Users are often forced to rely on multisigs, validator committees, or fixed signer groups to secure funds.

Union Bridge takes a different approach…. Instead of depending on trusted intermediaries, it uses cryptographic verification infrastructure anchored to Bitcoin.
This means Withdrawals can be verified and disputed directly on the Bitcoin network, removing the need for fixed signers or governance committees.

Personally I believe bridges are one of the most important areas of Bitcoin infrastructure because they remain a critical point of failure sometimes across crypto, so by reducing reliance on trusted actors and moving verification closer to Bitcoin itself a meaningful improvement in security is achieved.

Although, This is still an experimental release focused on testing bridge operations, security and user experience it offers a glimpse of what Bitcoin native interoperability could look like.

Bitcoin has established itself as a reliable reserve asset. The next phase for bitcoin is full scale adoption by Institutions. Institutions are curious how Bitcoin can become productive capital i.e how can Bitcoin be put to work?

Bitcoin works well as a neutral settlement layer. It does not depend on issuers, changing monetary policy, or centralized control. ETF adoption made access easier for large investors. The issue is what comes after acquisition of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin does not traditionally provide yield or have a built in mechanism for capital deployment. Therefore Treasury operations with it still face custody costs, audits, compliance expenses etc

This creates a gap between owning Bitcoin and using Bitcoin.

• Enter a 7-day community vote. If successful
• Receive the initial milestone payment after approval
• Submit monthly reports and milestone reviews for additional funding for your project
• Complete a final AMA and continue as an RootstockCollective ecosystem ambassadors after the grant period for a minimum of 12 months
