BREAKING – CRISIS UPDATE: BANYAMULENGE CIVILIANS UNDER DRONE ATTACK IN MINEMBWE

According to local sources and the latest humanitarian alert issued by the Umoja Network Platform, ongoing drone attacks, heavy shelling, and escalating fighting around Minembwe, South Kivu, continue to endanger the Banyamulenge civilian population.
Clashes have intensified in Gakenke, Kalingi, Ilundu, and Gitavi. Thousands of women, children, elderly persons, and displaced families are living in fear amid continuous explosions and drone activity.
After more than 14 months of isolation, civilians remain trapped without humanitarian access or safe escape routes.
The Mahoro Peace Association (MPA) joins the Umoja Network Platform in strongly condemning and denouncing these atrocities against innocent civilians. We reiterate that the protection of civilians is a moral, humanitarian, and legal obligation—not a choice.
The world has been warned. The world knows.
We call upon the United Nations, humanitarian organizations, diplomatic partners, and all defenders of human rights to take immediate action to protect civilians, establish secure humanitarian corridors, and prevent another avoidable tragedy.
