1/11 🚨 EUROPEAN FSD IS HERE… but it’s NOT the same beast you see in the US.
I just dug deep into the latest ride-along videos & regulation docs.
Here’s exactly what Tesla had to change for Europe 👇🧵

2/11 First big difference: TURN NOTIFICATIONS
In Europe → UNECE R79 forces Tesla to show a BIG on-screen warning at least 3 seconds before ANY system-initiated turn or lane change.
US version? Often silent like a human driver.
Europe = nanny mode activated 🟡

3/11 You can literally see it in every single European ride-along:
Rome, Paris, London… “Turning left in 3…2…1”.
Feels like 2019 Autopilot again 😅

4/11 Second killer missing feature: SPEED PROFILES
US owners (v14.x): Chill → Normal → Hurry (and secret Mad Max vibes)
Europe: …crickets 🦗
No profile selector at all right now.

5/11 Why?
European regs treat FSD like a robot taxi, not a smart cruise control.
Aggressive speed profiles would violate UN R79 & DCAS Phase 3 rules.
Result → Euro FSD drives a bit slower… even on empty autobahn.

6/11 Other small but annoying cuts:
• No adjustable follow distance in some countries
• No “Minimize Lane Changes” toggle yet

7/11 The good news?
Tesla has already driven >1 million regulated km in Europe.
Ride-along program is expanding fast (Germany, France, Italy right now).
Full driver access expected Q1/Q2 2026 once RDW & other agencies give final green light.

8/11 Elon & team are basically speed-running regulator demos every week.
Once the big approvals drop, most of these restrictions will vanish overnight (just like they did in the US after NHTSA relaxed rules).

9/11 Bottom line:
Right now European FSD is the “politically correct” version:
Safer on paper, slower and chattier in real life.
US version is still the wild one 🤠

10/11 As soon as Europe gets the same regulatory freedom the US has, we’ll see the REAL FSD party begin on this continent.

11/11 Who’s jealous of US FSD right now? 🙋‍♂️

@EFIEBER_ANDRE @snuuzu Ja, der Camp Mode ist ein echter Vorteil bei Tesla. Bin auch gespannt auf deinen Test der Matratze. Interessant wäre auch, wie gut die Matratze bei Nichtbenutzung verstaut werden kann, ob sie zum Beispiel zusammengerollt werden kann.
