@Zyolus@TheLaurenChen It's not social media and the internet that is the cause, those just reveal that women tend to rely on consensus for their opinions. Right now they see a lot of other women voicing a bad opinion (on social media) so they will repeat it instead of thinking for themselves.
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs So in other words, your own opinion. Because it is not self evident to me that a person should become another person's slave in the name of "equity"
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs Now you're just arguing nonsense. One's individual agency is the highest morality, and you trample on that in your argument.
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs A society that does not hold its citizens accountable is immoral. A society that puts charity in the hands of its government is immoral. A government cannot be charitable, because what it gives is stolen from someone else.
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs Democratic socialism is a paper-only concept. It would never exist in reality, because the members cannot vote on every single decision a company (for example) makes. They would need one or two people to make those decisions. And then guess what you're back to?
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs On paper that sounds great, in practice all it does is make a slave of one person to support another. A disabled individual's "right" to healthcare, for example, turns a doctor into his slave. Because if the doctor cannot say no (because it's a right) then what else would it be?
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs Replaced with what though? Suggest a better alternative.
And I am anti-equity in terms of economic systems. I prefer merit-based systems, not equity-based. If you think a doctor should have the same pay as a fast food worker, we're gonna disagree.
@allseeingpinkey@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs I'm not sure if you're arguing in favor of socialism or not, because socialism STARTS with the power/money in the hands of a few.
Capitalism isn't perfect, and no system built by imperfect humans can be, but it has brought more people out of poverty than any other system so far
@RebeccaBerryDC@ksorbs I wouldn't call this an example of the free market, this is an example of crony capitalism. We can be against this and socialism at the same time.
@a_lofty_paradox@TheLaurenChen It is not all based on hearsay, have you not been paying attention to the actual trial? Get tf off TikTok before it's too late.
