hello guys, I just published MUCH ADO ABOUT THE SIEMENS DEAL. I basically outlined hard questions we need to ask ourselves on the propriety of this agreement at this time. https://t.co/79LZFYTjpo
Why are landlords requesting rent 2 years upfront?
This makes no sense at all. Agents are also increasing their commissions. Everyone is preying on the end user.
All at the same time, inflation destroying the purchasing power of young Nigerians.
Someone look into this.
NVIDIA ENTERS NUCLEAR: DEAL WITH DIABLO CANYON BRINGS AI INSIDE
Nvidia, the world's most valuable company, has just made its first move into nuclear power: it is partnering with PG&E's recently-saved Diablo Canyon Nuclear plant to build AI inside the plant.
The deal is being announced right now at an event with PG&E in California.
For security reasons, nuclear plants are "air gapped", disconnected from outside networks.
This limits the use of powerful AI in working with immense amounts of data being generated by the plant's reactor and other systems.
Solution? Bring the AI inside. Nvidia will work with Atomic Canyon, a nuclear AI company, to build its computing power inside the plant walls.
More from me to follow.
If you’re still on the fence about voting in this election, think about what really matters – about the values we were taught, the kind of country we want to be, and how this is a moment when your vote really does count.
Your vote could determine the fate of our republic – the world that our children and grandchildren will inherit. It’s an awesome responsibility. But what an extraordinary privilege it is to live in a democracy that gives each of us the opportunity to make our voices heard.
I believe that the vast majority of people in this country are good and generous and honest and fair – and whether they are Democrats or Republicans or independents, they want those values reflected in their politics. That’s what we’ll get with @KamalaHarris and @Tim_Walz – two leaders who will work every day to make your lives better.
@energybants The tech companies are diving headfirst into the nuclear game. Looks like nuclear is winning the prize for clean, dependable energy. As for affordability, well, that's a whole other kettle of fish.
At least we're moving in the right direction, right?"
BREAKING: AMAZON MAKES HISTORIC INVESTMENT TO DEPLOY NUCLEAR PLANTS
Amazon has made a direct investment, the first of its kind, into building nuclear reactors to power AI.
Amazon is investing in X-Energy and joining Washington-based nuclear operator Energy Northwest to deploy nuclear energy in a planned 5 GW fleet by 2040.
After Amazon and its pears claimed for years to be using "100% Renewable power", it has become an open secret that this has only worked because of heavy use of steady nuclear, natural gas, and coal power bought as "gray energy" and taken from the local power grid.
An announcement ceremony is happening in Washington DC now.
More analysis to come.
@ruima As for jobs of the future, trends show that there will be massive growth in the nuclear industry, automation, and all hardware engineering. Things will continue to get built.
Then general skills like maths, storytelling, & public speaking will always be relevant.
“Our taste for foreign goods also must be calibrated accordingly”
Cardoso is now begining to sound very much like Emefiele.
The problem isn't excessive import. The data shows there's impressive trade surplus but in Q1 and Q2.
The problem isn't diversification either. It's volume.
Nigeria isn't producing enough crude oil.
Hot money inflow won't cut it.
We need to get real greenback into the system.
On the part of unlocking resources and funds, the monetary and fiscal side also need to collaborate in signalling to DOMESTIC investors that they'll provide the favourable climate for investment.
There are Nigerians and expats living in Nigeria who have the funds to invest in the country. But they are afraid of the unstable economic climate.
Fix FX instability.
Provide structure for transparency for business free flow of business transaction and contract.
Cut cooperate tax or provide tax holiday.
Reduce import duties for manufacturers and industries.
Focus on domestic output without necessarily stifling foreign trade inflow. The two can work together.
Encourage heavily local farming and production of food items, particularly in places where we have the cooperative advantage.
Cardoso needs to work with Edun, Bagudu and other stakeholders even if it's in an advisory capacity to expedite this process. What we need is unlocking domestic investments. Not hot money inflow that comes and goes with the wind.
For decades nuclear electricity projects faced unfair financing conditions.
From being blacklisted to not being considered a sustainable green investment.
But today, everything changes.
Fourteen of the world’s biggest banks and financial institutions are pledging support for the goal announced at COP28 of tripling nuclear capacity.
Combined they have committed over $5 trillion to sustainable infrastructure over the next five to ten years.
This massive amount of capital now will be available for nuclear electricity projects globally.
An incredible way to kick off NY climate week.
Nuclear power is back in full swing.
14 of the world's largest banks have pledged their support for tripling nuclear power capacity by 2050. This means that we can expect a surge in the construction of new nuclear power plants around the globe.

BREAKING IN NYC: WORLD'S BIGGEST BANKS PLEDGE SUPPORT FOR NUCLEAR
Banks and funds totaling $14 TRILLION in assets have just signed an unprecedented statement in support of nuclear power.
They'll be presenting the pledge to support the goal of tripling nuclear THIS MORNING at the Rockefeller Center in New York City to kick off NY Climate Week.
A few of the names:
Bank of America
Barclays
BNP Paribas
Brookfield
Citi
Credit Agricole
Goldman Sachs
Morgan Stanley
Rothschild & Co
The pledge comes after Microsoft signs deal to buy $16 billion in electricity from a revived Three Mile Island nuclear plant alone over 20 years to fuel its AI ambitions.
I'll be covering live today from the top of the Rockefeller Center, famously built with oil profits, as this unprecedented show of support for the next great energy source overcomes long-held financing barriers.
