A groundbreaking carbon dioxide battery project in Ireland is repurposing a former fossil fuel power plant into a center for lithium free long duration energy storage.
Energy Dome and Google have signed a commercial agreement to develop a 23 megawatt 200 megawatt hour CO2 battery facility in County Offaly Ireland. The system is expected to begin operations by 2028.
Unlike conventional lithium ion batteries which face significant challenges with supply chains and rare mineral extraction Energy Domes technology draws on surplus grid electricity to compress and store carbon dioxide. During periods of high electricity demand the stored gas is expanded through a turbine to produce clean reliable power that is returned to the grid.
The project is situated on the site of a decommissioned peat fired power station. It has already obtained the necessary land rights planning approval and a 10 year grid connection agreement with EirGrid Irelands transmission system operator.
This initiative represents an important advancement in Googles partnership with Energy Dome to roll out long duration carbon based energy storage solutions across Europe North America and the Asia Pacific region.
The announcement follows a similar June 2026 agreement for a 19 megawatt 200 megawatt hour CO2 battery project in Arizona also located at a former fossil fuel site with Google backing. By converting existing energy infrastructure and avoiding reliance on rare earth minerals Google and Energy Dome are developing a scalable approach to strengthening the power grid and achieving reliable carbon free electricity around the clock.

I do not think Vance should have commented on his wifeโs faith publicly, but this is a misunderstanding.
Abrahamic faiths believe in an eternal Hell, it is an act of love to proselytize.
When I was Muslim I wished to save the people I cared about from hellfire as I literally took that to be the fate of disbelievers.
And when/if my actively Christian friends didnโt advocate for their own faith to me, I felt a little hurt. They should be wanting to save me too!
Widow here โ๐ป happy to explainโฆ
When my husband passed away I was a shell of a person - I describe that first year after he was gone as mostly an out of body experience - I was doing things like taking our son to school and working, but I was not โthereโโฆI was present in body onlyโฆjust going through the motions and trying to process my grief on the outer edges of lifeโs regular demands.
When the men he worked with - who loved him and would have happily laid down in traffic for him - hugged me it was exactly like this. A full and complete embrace. It was like a breath of life that gave me enough strength to make it through another dayโฆ
I remember on the day of his funeral - as each one of those men - his bothers in arms - showed up and hugged me like this - it was the thing that gave me the strength to endure that day.
So, when I see Erika hugging the men who miss her husband as much as she does, I can feel it- and I am so grateful she has these moments of reprieve from the crushing heartache of losing him.
Hope this helps
The future First Lady. DNI, the most important person outside the White House. Head of the FBI. The next Governor of Ohio. All thriving powerful Hindu MAGA Americans. But let's bitch about how oppressed Hindus are in America.
Mumbai drivers don't slow down for pedestrians. I was scared to cross the street outside Kurla station for the first time after spending 20 years in Pune. Mumbai drivers just keep going at whatever speed they are at, you are supposed to dodge them. Almost got hit by Rickshaw
MH12 and MH14 idiots, park your third-class driving etiquettes in Hinjewadi before you come to Mumbai.
We stop at red signals, slow down for pedestrians, and make eye contact with humbleness, not your worthless ugly ego.
@Noahpinion American progressives are for racial unity except Indians. Many reasons. One being Hindu Americans (primarily) don't suffer or propagate victimhood. There's no saviour complex to be gleaned here. @avatans
๐จTamil Nadu govt to introduce bill banning Hindi in the state
"Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will present the legislation on the final day of the assembly session, aiming to prohibit Hindi hoardings and Hindi-language films across Tamil Nadu." (Economic Times)
Unapologetically Hindu even on a Christian Stage. Vivek Ramaswamy does the faith proud. You don't need to appease to win votes and minds.
EXAMPLE FOR SOME INDIAN NETAS WHO APPEASE BY CLOAKING THEIR HINDUNESS.
@lilastories Old Pune approach was of "customer needs us more than we need customers", probably because there were only a limited number of generational businesses (Marathi brahmins - majority in old Pune, are not very entrepreneurial). Things have changed now, but the joke/stereotype remains
