@itamarw@VerminusM I think people are so fed up with the current politicians that they would rather vote for a wild card. At least they don't know what they will disagree with him about. Every other person has given me some reason to hate them
(FTR: I am not voting for Eisenkot)
@K9aharaBrill@HappyLeiner@EliLebowicz I was told it's a loan word from Yiddish (ביי), not bad grammar per say. A lot of "bad grammar" in American Yeshivish is borrowed syntax from Hebrew or Yiddish. Like saying "I hear" by itself is a direct translation from a normal Hebrew phrase.
@JosephJakeKlein@havivrettiggur Add it to the long list of things BG was wrong about. Evian was great for Zionism. It was proof positive that even when the situation was clearly dire, almost nobody was willing to take in Jews. They will cry about how sad it is tho. Why was Meir only there in an observer role?
@JosephJakeKlein@havivrettiggur Lol Golda Meir famously attended the Evian conference and was not allowed to speak, and she was furious that it didn't succeed. Almost every country who participated refused to take any Jews, which was then used by the Nazis as propaganda.
@HenMazzig Hen, I love you, but Caleb makes fun of all stereotypes in this way (about every group) and hosts vile guests with whom he disagrees from across the political spectrum. It's not everyone's cup of tea but it *is* equal opportunity
@VerminusM It's cultural. The left sees protest as a cool way to spend an afternoon or evening, for the right it's seen as a waste of time or even something kind of antisocial. Remember for the pro reform protest they basically had to advertise it as a carnival, and it's a popular position!
@StarrJpost@JoeTruzman And yet people imagine that 0 gazan women and children on the registry died from this practice, which has killed highly trained soldiers with advanced equipment
@lymanstoneky one of the reasons is that the skills a 6yo needs to be independent enough to walk to school alone are built on other independence skills your 6yo might not have yet. your parents probably let you do other independent things at 3-4yo which prepared you and made you more mature
@jimsciutto@be_that_jew There is a key word in this reply that is missing from your original post
I'll give you a hint: it will also clue you in as to why this attraction is open to the public while others (including the western wall PLAZA) are closed
@LanaBCandado @ASFleischman also, the idea that they are doing anything close to precision at this point . . . sure, Jan, I'm positive they were trying to hit a bunch of old apartments in Arad. makes sense.
@LanaBCandado @ASFleischman it's so confusing, like do they think that intercepting 20 missiles over 10 days takes more interceptors than 20 missiles in an hour? if IRGC could do a saturation attack they would
@LahavHarkov@JYuter I'm just not sure that the word "afraid" communicates the vibe correctly. People are not anxiously wringing their hands all day waiting for the next siren, but they are sticking close to home and feeling exhausted (in my circles)
@LahavHarkov@JYuter Nobody I know with kids is taking them to a park or a store unless they know the location of the nearby miklat and that they could get there in <90 seconds. It's not necessarily fear, just different risk tolerance with kids
@Indubiousness @RosenfeldBrian @cherylbenson@juliajassey "Israel killed more palestinians these two weeks than hamas has ever killed since 1948"
This is verifiably false
@TheKhazarian@AanelVictoria@DrMichaelOren "End the occupation now" they say.
I'm totally sure that if the IDF managed to drag every Jew from the WB and leave the territory to the PA, Hamas wouldn't immediately seize control and create a humanitarian crisis. We have no recent history that speaks to this whatsoever.
@Yiddish_Liberty@j_bubbie@elaadeliahu Don't forget, they also care very very much about modesty campaigns and women not being able to walk on the same side of the street as men
Love it when leftists point to them and go "See! Not all Jews are bad!"
@kweansmom@imshin This has always been true. When there are reports of "civilians" who die in Gaza, they always automatically incl anyone under 18. This is not only intellectually dishonest, it also obscures the horrors of Hamas leaders oppressing its civilians by using teenagers as canon fodder.
