पंडित नेहरू hmt को देश की धड़कन कहते थे। 2014 में मोदी की सरकार आई 2016 में hmt के घड़ियों के कारखानों को बंद करने का आदेश दे दिया गया। उत्तराखंड के रानीबाग में hmt का सर्वाधिक उन्नत कारखाना था, एशिया के सबसे उन्नत टूलरूम। जहां केवल घड़ियां नहीं कारतूसों के कैप भी बनते थे। यह सब कुछ, करोड़ों की मशीनें कौड़ियों के दाम बिक गईं।

अब सैकडों एकड़ में बसी फैक्ट्री की पूरी इमारत जीर्ण शीर्ण हो गई है। कर्मचारी दस साल से अपने बकाए के लिए मुकदमे लड़ते लड़ते थक चुके हैं और मोदी सरकार को बददुआएं देते रहते हैं। वो नाउम्मीद हैं।
