Proving that a cheap gaffer tape is one of the most valuable tools - (how else to secure a camera to a wing?) - @goktay shot this astonishing view of the #UkraineFrontLines from the air.
On a wing and a prayer....We were given rare access to helicopter pilots in Ukraine's Sikorsky Brigade who are part of war in the skies. On combat missions they have to fly as low as one or two metres off the ground. With @goktay@Wburema@N_sosnytska@Marianamatveic1
Amazing work by my team - a must-watch. They barely ate or slept for days to bring this story to light - though their trials are a fraction of the suffering they saw there.
For @BBCPanorama we followed an overnight rescue mission in #Antakya led by Burak Akkurt. It was a relentless effort requiring extreme emotional strength. Full investigation into #Turkey and Syria quake and its immediate aftermath tonight on @BBCOne at 8pm
Christos Aneste - Happy Easter to those in the Orthodox calendar. Lighting candles, thinking of families who should be eating together tomorrow, not missing loved ones in war.
I didn’t come to Russia to tell bad stories. I didn’t come here to undermine the Russian state. I came here to talk to Russian people, Russian officials and try to understand this country and explain it to other people. BBCs @sarahrainsford
A man just came and sat next to me and drew swastikas into the steamed up glass on the bus window in front of my face. He laughed when I moved seat. #everydayantisemitism doesn’t seem to be a trending hashtag but it should be.
I’m not Jewish but you shouldn’t have to be to be disgusted by it. I am a woman, and the other truth is that he knew that he was free to intimidate me, with very little chance of anything happening to him.
Britain's World War Two 'Brown Babies' - the babies born to Black American GI's who then weren't allowed to marry their English girlfriends. Beautiful children, lovely use of archive, fascinating from @farhanahaider

‘Time does not heal something like that. You just work to achieve justice because it makes you at ease.’ Says Tatiana who lost her father in the Beirut blast one year today. We talked to survivors and those who lost loved ones: ‘The day our city exploded’ https://t.co/C5XCTMh2CU
It's the 'nicer motorways with nice truck stops' bit that got me. As someone who used to drive around Europe on reportng trips, I can confirm they are *very* nice.
👀 “Why would you want to go to Britain, jump all these hoops…if you could go to Ireland or Holland and earn more, be respected, drive on nicer motorways with nice truck stops, and be a free European citizen not a second-class citizen?” Top @sarahoconnor_ https://t.co/rDkuYZ8xRW
I always noticed when living in #SouthAfrica the amount of public debate about the state of the roads. Roads and cycle lanes make us feel like civilisation is holding. When they start crumbling, it feels like a warning of greater societal decay.
VIDEO: We’ve just returned from the Poland-Belarus border.
We found men who feared freezing to death, stranded in the forest.
They said border guards on both sides had pushed them back & forth.
