So ridiculous.
AWS didn't "break the entire internet."
Companies that decided to build non-resilient systems depending on one single cloud region (aws-us-east-1) broke themselves.
Noticed how X, Google, Meta, Shopify etc were all fine?
"Breaking up" would solve nothing...
@YahooSchwab KC has the toughest November schedule in the league. I guess we'll find out over the next 6 weeks if they really deserve that top spot or not.
Denver has an easier path to winning the division, and Mahomes or not, KC will find it difficult to get to the Super Bowl on the road.
@joshm - Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but does Dia just fully hijack the Chromium sidepanel? This seems to break a lot of extensions that would otherwise use it.
Here's the thing. I really love @arcinternet. I am willing to give @joshm and @browsercompany the benefit of the doubt with @diabrowser.
But, come on folks. Just give me my vertical tabs back.
@NateSilver538 Bluesky's base algorithm heavily promotes large accounts and does a really good job of hiding the "ordinary" people. And the vibes those big accounts are excited about are mostly that their feeds are just other big accounts, so they feel safe from the rest of us.
@CubeApril The mere thought of handwriting a letter makes my hand cramp. All of the muscles involved have atrophied in favor or l33t keyboarding skills.
@NateSilver538 To be clear. I don't think this is bad. It just means you need lots of samples to help offset the inherent variance.
And honestly, unfortunately, we do not get a lot of samples. Not nearly enough.
@NateSilver538 It's a *weighted* sample, even, in most cases. Like, you're not just looking at a slice of data, you're looking at a slice of data plus all the pollster's a priori assumptions about the makeup of the electorate.
