I have had a theory for years. The MMR vaccine immunity only lasts about 10-12 years, yet it has been sold as providing “lifelong immunity.”

As the Baby Boomer Generation begins to die off, we will see a large uptick in Measles and Mumps cases because they were the last generation to have natural immunity, which in turn gave them true lifelong immunity.

Herd immunity is a thing and it does protect. However, vaccines do not cause herd immunity when they only last 10-12 years. Lifelong immunity from natural infection was always the key and that lifelong immunity is now beginning to end.

We now have the very last generation that had actual lifelong immunity from measles and mumps dying off. Which means all of us in the next generation have zero immunity to the many childhood diseases we could have had, mildly, as a young child and these illnesses are much more severe when contracted as adults.

Exhibit A: Mumps and measles are making a comeback, BUT they are in ADULTS, not children. It is going to become more prevalent.
