"The right to protest is not dependent on government approval. It is protected by the Indian Constitution and international human rights law."
Protesters in Delhi and Mumbai are demanding Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation amid controversy over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. More than 130 million people have been deleted from electoral rolls since 2025.
The authorities have responded by imposing prohibition orders on the protests, arresting hundreds of peaceful protesters, and suspending internet and public transport services.
These actions are a blatant attack on the rights to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly. Those arbitrarily detained must be released at once, and authorities must guarantee their right to protest.

India probably hasn't seen this level of multi-spectrum movement against any govt since Quit India Movement, 1942.
When religious dogma is used to excuse severe exploitation, it stops being faith and starts functioning like a cult. No society should turn a blind eye to human & Animal rights abuses under the guise of religion
Five elephants. Five transfer files. But where are the complete ownership histories?
Before moving them across 2,000+ km, shouldn't every certificate, microchip, DNA record & transfer document be independently verified?

Whoever in support of elephant captivity in temples, a real question to you! Will you gift your 5 year old baby to temple where they will be tied with chains, fed with food and taken pictures with by public and decorated for festivals?

Assam, raise your voice for your Bhonti! Durga is a sentient elephant enduring the heartbreak of isolation. Elephants thrive only in family herds. Demand space, social contact, and dignity for these five young lives. #NoElephantsInTemples@SamujjalBhatta@lurinjtgogoi
Animal cruelty cannot be treated as a minor offence simply because the penalty is small.
The J&K High Court’s call for stronger penalties and jail time for animal cruelty sends an important message: when the law fails to deter cruelty, the voiceless continue to suffer.
Animals are sentient beings. Their pain, suffering and lives deserve meaningful legal protection—not token fines that can be treated as a mere cost of wrongdoing.
The law must protect those who cannot speak for themselves.
Cruelty must have consequences.

Claims? I know for a fact that whatever Prof Jiang Xueqin said in this video is 100% true.
India is a corrupt, inefficient, communal, feudal, ultra-religious, superstitious country.
If India ever becomes a developed country with the current political setup (irrespective of who is at power) that thrives on backwardness of its mass, name a donkey after me.
