Restore Britain’s next aim is to achieve the biggest political party membership in Wales.
We’re now second in Scotland, we can go one better in Wales.
Welsh patriots finally have a genuine political home in Restore Britain.
HMS Warspite — the “Grand Old Lady”
With 15 battle honours, Warspite is the most decorated ship in Royal Navy history. Her service spanned two world wars and some of the most famous naval actions of the 20th century.
🔺Rupert Lowe at today’s Restore Britain South Event - “We will hold a tax bonfire, which like the Great Wall of China, will be visible from space, stamp duty….gone , inheritance tax…gone, insurance premium tax….gone, air passenger duty….gone, climate change levy….gone….we will take a chainsaw to the British state in manner that will make Javier Milei look like a socialist puppy”
Jackanory - The Hobbit (1st October 1979). To celebrate reaching the 3000th edition of Jackanory, a tag team of four readers - Jan Francis, Bernard Cribbins, Maurice Denham, and David Wood - tackled this book.
The Æthelwulf Ring - one of the finest surviving pieces of 9th-century Anglo-Saxon goldwork 🏴
Made during the lifetime of King Æthelwulf of Wessex, father of Alfred the Great, it is decorated in gold and niello and bears the inscription “Æthelwulf Rex” - Æthelwulf the King. Its central design shows two peacocks facing the Tree of Life, a Christian symbol of immortality.
The ring was discovered at Laverstock in Wiltshire in the late 18th century and is now held by the British Museum. Whether Æthelwulf personally wore it is uncertain; the Museum suggests rings like this may instead have been royal gifts or symbols of office given to loyal followers.
A remarkable survivor from the royal house of Wessex, made more than 1,100 years ago 🏴
Following today’s attack, we have taken the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Restore Britain campaigning session in Holborn and St Pancras.
A donor has kindly offered to fund the delivery of those leaflets instead.
Remarkably, we are now in the position where our campaigners can’t congregate in our capital city without the fear of being scalded with boiling liquid. Putting our members in harm’s way is not something the party is prepared to do.
From next week, we will arrange private security for our campaigning events in this by-election. I am personally writing to the met police about how this has been handled, and how these violent thugs in ‘anti-racist’ groups are allowed to police themselves.
Proscribing them as terrorist groups is looking increasingly justified.
This country is in deep shit, and I have never felt more determined to restore it.
THIS IS THE SORT OF CHURCH I COULD WALK AROUND FOR HOURS.
St John’s in Duxford is a 12th-century church packed with medieval wall paintings, strange carvings and centuries-old graffiti. Some of the paintings date back to the 1100s, and one scene of Joseph of Arimathea is considered unique among English examples.
You start looking at one wall, then notice something else above it, then another little detail in the stone.
That's what I love about old churches 💗 There's always another story hiding somewhere.
🏴🇬🇧The first diving helmet worked, right up until the moment a man bent over. 🏴🇬🇧
Then the sea poured in.
For all of history, the sea kept what it took. A man could go no deeper than one held breath, so whatever sank was gone.
In 1823 an 🏴Englishman🏴, Charles Deane, patented a smoke helmet for walking into burning buildings. In 1828 he and his brother John took it underwater instead and proved it in the River Thames. For the first time, a man stood on a riverbed and worked. ⚙️
But the helmet only rested on his shoulders, held by nothing but its own weight. Lean too far, or fall, and it flooded. Sometimes the diver did not come up.
The man who sealed that flaw was not born British but chose to be part of Britain.🇬🇧
Augustus Siebe, born in Saxony, wounded at the Battle of Leipzig as a Prussian artillery lieutenant in 1813, came to Britain when the wars ended, because Britain was the workshop the world came to.
From 5 Denmark Street, Soho, he made the Deanes' helmets and refined them at their side. In 1837 he ended the flaw for good: helmet sealed to a full watertight rubberised suit, the whole diver airtight apart from his hands. 🔥
The proof was a wreck. The Royal George, sunk at Spithead in 1782, still being worked over 50 years on. The Deanes had dived her first in the open helmet, raising her guns. From 1839 Colonel Pasley of the Royal Engineers blasted the wreck apart with gunpowder, and in 1840 he moved his divers into Siebe's closed dress. No ladders. No flooding by a fall. By September 1843 the anchorage was declared safe.
Siebe's design became the Standard Diving Dress, built in Soho, worn by navies and salvage crews across the world for over 100 years. He died at Denmark Street in 1872, aged 84. They sometimes call him the father of diving. 🏛️

Every diver who ever came home owes a debt to a name nobody knows.
2 English brothers dared the water. A Prussian hand in a Soho workshop made it give men back.

🇬🇧⚓ She was built to outrun the Royal Navy.
She was built to carry people as cargo. The Royal Navy caught her anyway, and sent her back to hunt her own kind. 🏴⛓️⚫️
Her name was Henriquetta, a Brazilian slaving ship, built for speed by a captain who wanted one thing: to deliver enslaved people before any patrol could catch him. In 1827, HMS Sybille ran her down.
⚓ The Royal Navy did not sink her. They bought her, armed her, and gave her a new name: Black Joke. A lieutenant took command, and she sailed back to the African coast, this time hunting the ships she once sailed alongside.
Over the next 5 years she became one of the most successful ships of the whole West Africa Squadron. In one year alone she took 11 prizes. Free West African Kroomen served alongside her Royal Navy crew.
🌊 Her most famous chase began in 1829. She ran down the Spanish slaver El Almirante over 31 hours, neither ship able to shake the other, until Black Joke's guns finally found their range. Aboard El Almirante, 466 enslaved people, waiting in the hold. Every single one was freed.
Career totals for people freed across her whole career are less certain, sources vary, and we won't pretend otherwise. What is certain: she was one of the most effective ships the Squadron ever had.
By 1832, 5 hard years had worn her out. Her timbers were too rotten to sail home. She was broken up on the African coast that had made her famous.
A ship built for one purpose became the opposite of it. Britain inherited a fast ship, and a choice about which side it would serve.

No words are big enough right now to overcome this empty feeling in the stomach. We were close, really close to another final but it wasn’t enough. We’ve given everything over these last 7 weeks and to fall short is hard to take!
I know the expectations are high and rightly so, we’ve been knocking on the door for 8 years now but again are missing that final piece of the jigsaw! That’s where we have to go away, process it and find a way to get better. I’m so proud of the boys and what we have shown throughout this tournament - some tough games and tough environments that we have overcome.
Some memories that will stay with us players and I’m sure you fans for a long long time! Going for glory doesn’t always mean you will get it. You have to fight for it, get knocked down, pick yourself up and go again and that’s what we will do, there’s no other way but to keep believing and keeping pushing.
Thank you to every single fan that travelled and showed their support in the stadiums. Thank you to every fan back home for believing in us. Thank you to the boys and staff for everything you have given. As always Win or lose, we learn and go again! 🏴🦁
Nearly 1,000 years old... and still standing. ⛪
St Peter's Church, Corhampton is one of England's finest Saxon churches, complete with original Anglo-Saxon windows and a rare sundial carved almost a millennium ago.
One man swore his door would never shut on a homeless child again. 🇬🇧
Nearly 60,000 children came through it.
One winter night in Victorian London, a homeless boy led a young medical student up onto the rooftops, to where the city's lost children slept in the freezing dark. The student counted 11.
He was Thomas Barnardo, a Dublin-born student bound for missionary work in China. China never got him. The East End did. He left his training behind, because the children could not wait.
In 1870 he opened a home for destitute boys at Stepney Causeway and taught them a trade. Then a boy called Carrots was turned away one night because the home was full. 2 days later he was found dead, of cold and hunger. Barnardo swore it would never happen again. A sign went up: no destitute child ever refused admission. The door stayed open, lamp lit, all night, every night, for the rest of his life.
By his death in 1905, nearly 60,000 children had been taken in.
We tell him whole. His staged fundraising photographs and his child-emigration schemes are criticised today, and fairly, and we do not hide it. But the door he kept open took in tens of thousands of children who had no one, and the charity that carries his name still works across Britain.
Britain is built by people who will not look away. We put the names back, free, for anyone who wants them.
If you can afford to, help us teach thousands their own history: https://t.co/rih7iKwnvf

Henry Nowak died the same way a civilization dies: abandoned, handcuffed by authorities who neither trusted nor cared for him, and accused of hate crimes he did not commit. His murder is as tragic as it is enraging. He should still be alive today, and he would be if the last few generations of European elites had stood their ground against the politics of self-hatred and the mass invasion of migrants, many of whom despise the West and the people who love it.
Henry was far from the first to so needlessly lose his life, and I fear he won’t be the last. Each time a life like his is lost, the proper response—the only response—is righteous anger. One of the most important things the Trump administration has proven to the world is that stopping the flow of mass migration and defending national sovereignty is a matter of political will and leadership. Anything else is an excuse.
It is because we love the West that we want to preserve it. We love our civilization. We love our country. We love our children. And nobody—nobody—should ever die the way that Henry Nowak died. May God comfort those who loved him, and may God rest his soul.
