@GLandsbergis Yes, I have heard about them. Quite a lot, actually. I'm surprised you haven't heard anything, as they are making noise about them. Loud noise. No action, though.
@yanisvaroufakis Just look how "quick" it was for Sweden to get to NATO. There was never any chance that Ukraine would have gotten to NATO all out of sudden. Russia wasn't concerned about that. Their problem was - Ukraine was making decisions independently. For Russia, that's intolerable.
@OJoelsen Once again, I would really love to see independent Greenland - I'm just really worried whether it would be sustainable. At least there would be a lot of attempts to divide & conquer.
@OJoelsen ...which was not the case, but the lies live their own life. And it might be really tough for Greenlanders to get their voice heard once some hothead starts to spread story about Greenland falling to the hands of (insert usual suspect here)...
@McFaul The fight has already caused a lot of damage. If the US treats its close neighbor, old friend and loyal ally like that - what about the others? Nobody is safe.
Poland is massively pro-America. They spend nearly 5% of GDP on national defence. They buy vast amounts of U.S. weapons. They even thought about naming a military base after Donald Trump.
Yet, the U.S. is now picking a fight with Poland and treating Polish officials with contempt.
This is a lesson for those who still foolishly say that Canada should just ‘give Trump what he wants.’
Our disgraceful treatment by the U.S. isn’t Canada’s fault, or Poland’s fault, or Ukraine’s fault, or the EU’s fault.
This is happening because the U.S. is led by someone who admires dictators and has contempt for democratic nations.
We must stop trying to appease the insanity currently overtaking our southern neighbour.
